I've been think about this for months now... I'm having my first child and i wanted to bank because i thought it was cool and beneficial idea. However, if i'm having a healthy baby is it necessary, should i just donate?

cord blood registry. they were great. they called us when they received the sample to let us know how many cells were retrieved and that the sample taken was good. cbr was the company our ob suggested. remember to talk with them about the whole thing. they will be the one taking the sample.
i have also heard great things about viacord.

we banked our son's cord blood and we will bank any future children's blood. we like the reassurance of having it there if it's needed. if he never needs it, we still believe in supporting the research being done.

I'm sorry but I can't offer any advice and didn't want to read and run. I read a lot into this blood banking and although i think it is a great idea I think it is also very expensive and then there are always what if something goes wrong with your sample you've just wasted loads of money and cant even use it. If i had the money i would do it and i have 4 healthy boys because you never know what the future may hold unfortunately in this day and age. Go with what you think is right and if you can spare the money the do it but if not buy the baby something nice. Congratulations.
