my son is a little over a month old and im noticing that his scalp is extremly dry..and so is the area around his eyebrows..what can i do to help it. Some spots look maybe a little yellow so im worried hes getting cradle cap...is there any way to prevent him from getting it full blown?

What we used was a little olive oil. We put it on over night and washed off in the morning. Hope this helps. :)

our pedi reccomended selsen blue for craddle cap. you mix 1 cap of shampoo and 1 cap of water, then rub it into the areas and let it sit for about 10 minutes, rinse off and rewash with regular baby shampoo. it is a dandruff shampoo and that is all craddle cap is, is really bad dandruff.

Rather than lotions or baby oil, my pediatrician recommended using olive oil. The others can clog the pores, the perfume in it can irritate the skin and if the baby gets it on their hands and eats it, there's no worries. If you notice scaly skin on his head, let the olive oil soak into the skin and comb it gently with a fine tooth comb to get rid of the scales.

I always used baby oil on both of my kids.rub some on about 2-3 hours before bath time and use a wash cloth to rub the spot with the dry skin. if it is really bad you can put it on in the morning and leave it all day but be careful not to get in his eyes . Good Luck !

lotion lots and after you lotion you can use a baby comb through the hair - the lotion will soften it and the comb will gently lift it off. also, before bath (about 10 mins before) put baby oil on his head- this will soften it up more so it can be combed out after bath. my son had it on his head and a little in his eyebrow as well. i followed this routine for about a week and it cleared up and i haven't had a problem with it since. good luck!

Just take a warm wash rag and clean it completely, then take some lotion and rub on his scalp. This should stop any drying out. Plus you get that wonderful clean baby smell!

yes use alot of lotion after every bath and through out the day. my 8mo son and 2y/o daughter still have it seems that they got the dry skin from me cause bad to say i still get it sometimes but i have to use oil treatments to help. but baby lotion works wonders and its safe but i cake it on my kids.
