Hi everyone. Just a question, I'm 35wks pregnant with twins, everything's been fine except today I've had period like pain most of the day, and also diarrhea. Is this something to be worried about? My midwive thinks it may be a tummy bug.

Well I was always told that diarrhea and cramping was a sign of labor, but it could be the flu. But if you aren't having any other flu like symptoms then you might want to get off your feet and drink plenty of water. Stay hydrated, cause dehydration can cause

contractions.

Congrats on the double blessings! I had the same issues @ 35 wks (also twins)   When i went in because I was worried the Dr. said it was the beginning stage of labor and they were born within a few days(@ 36wks) !

I had my twins at 34 weeks.  I had no idea I was in labor.  I thought I had a bad stomach ache and I was also having diarrhea.  My twins were born 6 hours later.  Twins frequently come early, this is potentially "time".  Good luck.  Twins are the most fantastic experience I could have ever imagined.

I am not a professional, but came to think of what I have been told by my obgyn - better to be safe than sorry when it comes to cramps and diarrhea and/or nausea, so call urgent care or go to the hospital for a checkup. If the babies are moving as usual it is probably nothing but a bug, but it is the loss of fluids that are a concern as I understand it. Best of luck with the little ones and hope you feel better soon!!

I would call urgent care and see if they feel the same way. It can't hurt to be safe!
