My husband and I just started the C.I.O method with our son last night. What are we suppose to do for naps? Do you keep the same routine for naps until they master the night time falling asleep? Or, do you do C.I.O for naps at the same time?

My son still cries for less than 5 mins and hes sleeping soundly he's been in his own bed for 2 weeks we both now gets a great night sleep and have more energy to burn during the day its best to do both day and night so they dont get confused.

Most sleep consultants will tell you to be 100% consistent day and night. So you do exactly the same at nap time. There are one or two authors (but they are both no-cry methods) who say not to do day naps until they are sleeping at night.
I can be more specific if you tell me which CIO method you are using. If you dont know the exact name for it just describe what you are doing.

I used the CIO method for my son with night sleeps and naps. from the day he was born it was the only way to get him to sleep. He never fell asleep while feeding or being held so CIO was the only way. It did break my heart but now he is 16 months and has finally stopped crying himself to sleep. If he cries now i know there is something wrong.

I let him cry it out for naps too. Eventually they get it that it's nap time and nothing they do will get them out of napping.

I'm not a fan of CIO but I would suggest that naps not be handled in the same way. Depending on the age of the child, naps sometimes aren't necessary any longer. How old is your son?
