I'm a fan of names that have some kind of meaning. For example, a favorite place name that means something to you like Arizona, Stowe, Berlin...something cool like that. Also, I wanted to name my second daughter Ocean, because I love the ocean so much (we ended up naming her Ainslee). Family surnames are cool, too for first names (like your maiden name, or go a ways back in history for a cool name). I named my first daughter after one of my favorite songs by Johnny Clegg, the song was "Dela" so we changed the spelling and that is her name. Be creative, make it significant, don't tell anyone until after you've named her, so you don't get swayed by other people's comments. Pick a name that you LOVE!

A bit of advice from someone with an unusual name - make sure it can be sounded out! I went by a variant of my middle name until college because I couldn't handle such a big name! Also, my husband pointed out that when he calls an office asking for someone he hasn't met it person, it's hard if the name can be for a boy or girl - does he say Mr. or Ms.? I liked Aaron for a boy when he pointed out it could also be Erin! Anyway, my girls' names are Aubrey Lynn and Colleen Noelle - not too many of those around!!

I have 21 month-old twins, luckily they are boy/girl because we only had one girls name picked out...Ainsley Nichole (we ended up spelling her middle name Nicole). We always get a lot of comments that it is unique, but it seems to be gaining popularity--we have at least met some people who know other Ainsleys. We love the name and it so fits our little princess.

My daughter's name is Teshoni Rose, I consulted a professor of linguist before I used that spelling and it is spelled properly. It means flower in the Athabascin language which we are. Hope you find the perfect name for your little miss.

I work in a place with tons of kids and let me tell you.....sophie, Mia, Zoe and olivia's run rampid!!! very very popular names! The old fashion names are back and that is why I had such a hard time decideing our little girls name who was born in July. I loved Sadie but it's "old" and therefore growing in popularity. I love Ruby but my husband said no and claudette. We went with sasha. Good luck...I know how hard it is to find the perfect name, we went through torture trying to find ours.

Try putting parts of names together. Such as Tressi (not that you would want that but, just for example.............Tr from Travis and essi from Jessica = Tressi. Try different combinations. You can come up with something unique and meaningful (by using different family members names with parts of them put together to make a whole new name). ie: Alice + Patricia = Alicia.............and so on...........you can put part of mom and dad's names together to do the same thing........

Now that I posted this............I see someone else has the same idea, sorry for the repeat.

here is one idea, if it works take the first few letters of your name and the first few of your partners and add them together for example, my friend and her partners name is JASON and LEANNE = JA-LEA if it doesnt work try others/ parents/other family members. Hope this helps :) or LAMORSHAYE

When choosing ur name try & pick something that fits well with McFadden. I feel that a short strong sounding christian name would be best. Some names r cute when little & a bit like fairy floss when their older. Ultimately the choice is yours.

These r random names, but to me well fitting:
Faith McFadden - Raquel McFadden - Indiana McFadden - Rachael McFadden etc...
As chosen by my 10yr old daughter Tiahn, Indiana is my favourite!

I named my daughter PAISLEY and loooove it!!! her middle name is Louise so we call her PaiseyLou. I get compliments everyday! There are so many cool ways to spell it although we went with the tradional way in hopes of finding pencils and keychains someday. You could spell it Paizlee or Paisleigh etc. Another really cool name I heard was PIPER. If we had a boy we were going to name him SLADE or SLAYDE. If you are interested in these names, I have many more :)))

My 10yr old daughter & I love the sound of Indiana or Indianna McFadden - A pretty, but strong sounding name., with no fairy floss attached. Some names r a bit airy fairy.

Ultimately it's up to you!

Congratulations to you, your family & your little girl!

Regards Christine & Tiahn ...(pronounced Tiarne)

Briony...pronouced Bri-uh-nee. I fell in love with it after watching "Atonement". Maybe it's just the way the British pronouce it, because I told my friend to name her little girl this, but she didn't like the way that I said it. But it is an absolutely beautiful and unique girls name and I think it will become extremely popular in the US in about 10 years.

We named our baby Colette. It is not common but also not weird and we felt like it is very feminine girls name which was important to us. We get complements all the time on her name!

apparently we inadvertently gave our daughter a unique girls name, Skylar... I guess usually SkylEr is a male name but noone I knw has ever seen a SkylAr. What I would suggest is taking a more common girls name and changing up the spelling a lil bit, because sometimes children are creul and anything to strange and she'll be tormented =( Thats what my mom did with mine and everyone has always loved it.

I love the cute, unique girls names Simone and Olivia. Both of which have faded out. My daughter's name is Keni Simone and my goddaughter's name is Cicily. I also loved Gia Simone. Keilyn was my favorite next to Simone but it wasn't until I saw her that I realized I had no clue. We took 5 days to decide. Enjoy looking and don't stress even if she makes it here before you decide. Good luck.

I wanted a cute unique girls name for my daughter but being from Brazil and my husband English we had to settle in a name that would be pronounce the same in both languages - It is not very original but we love it Sophia Helena. Saying that I do love my name and you can cut it short either, which I think is great - Lara. My fiend just named her baby girl Lana and I think is very original and beautiful. I have actually thought of that but it would be to similar to Lara. Congratulations, anyway. And don't worry when you look at your baby's face you will find just the right name for her! :0)
