cyst on ovary will it prevent pregnancy?

I have had lots of cysts on my overies mine was clear and burst on their own very painful. My husband and I went years without preventing pregnacy. After we was married I went and got on clomid low doseage concieved my first son. 6 years later I have 3 sons! Hope this helps

guess what i have pol sic overysyndrome and i have two children i lost my first as i found i have pol on my overies and my doctors removed them and he said start trying after your first peirod back 2mths later i was pregent

My sister 4 years ago fell pregnant.. One morning she woke up with a lot of bleeding (not spotting) this was bright red blood. She went straight to the hospital as the Dr was sure it was a miscarriage. She now has a 3 yr old. She had to go on full bedrest for the first 3 months and the last 3 months. It was hard seen she already had 2 children.

It turned out to be a cyst.

Lindsey I've had problems with cysts on my ovaries since I was 14, I'm now 33 and just had our first baby in September. I've had 4 surgeries, 2 major and 2 scope to remove them, I was told at 18 after my second surgery that with the damage done I probably only had till my early 20's to have children. I was scared that I'd never have kids, and well I would have adopted if I had to, but we had the surprise of "I'm pregnant" long after I wasn't supposed to be able to. The cysts themselves unless they are blocking things from working right won't stop you from getting pregnant, its the damage they cause, esp if they burst, or from surgery that can reduce your chances. My cousins wife has way worse problems than I do, was told she could try but the chances were next to none, since then they have had 3 beautiful girls!! Hope this helps!!

there are no garenties that it will or wont, but in most cases it doesnt but just takes a little time to conceive. my stepbrothers girlfriend has PCOS and she has had 2 children and is currently pregnant with the 3rd. her first son is 2, her second son is a few days from being 1 and she is 5 months pregnant with her 3rd. i think it also depends on how fertile you are. and how much damage the cyst has done, and if you can get it removed or not. but never give up hope she was told after her first son she wouldnt be able to concieve anymore so they didnt use protection, 9 months after her first son she got pregnant again and 7 months after her second she got pregnant again. she showed those doctors wrong lol. but deffinately dont give up hope. hope everything goes well for you. best wishes :)

As long as your other ovary is fine, you will still ovulate from that one. If your left is too damage to ovulate then you will ovulate from the right every other month.

i have a cyst too!!! i found out i was pregnant and had to av a scan at 6 weeks cuz they fort it was egtopic as i was havin pains but it was a cyst!! at the time it was 6cm then i had my 12 week scan and the cyst was 13cm!!! iv been havin scans every 4 weeks and had my most recent on wed (21/4/10) and my cyst had shrunk!!!! because of the size i was told i may av to av a c section to deliver so they can remove it when they get baby out but now it had got smaller i can deliver naturally and it will cause me no problems!! i saw a few doc's and they all told me different things until i saw the top doc and he told me straight!! hope u go on ok!!! keep us infrormed x x

Not sure what you mean by complex cyst, but I have PCOS as well.. had an ultrasound about 4 years ago showing multiple cysts on my ovaries.. the very next month I got pregnant, so yes it's possible!

i am currently pregnant and i have a cyst on my right ovary, and i have polycystic ovarian syndrome, so im sure its possible!

No guarantees but it shouldn't. I have suffered with systs for 20 years and was told I might not be able to have children. It ttok 3 years and 2 miscarriages to have my daughter (now 8). I was then diagnosed with another complex cyst just over a year ago. The hospital monitored it and were on the verge of operating when I found I was pregnant (7 weeks after having a coil removed). Again the hospital have watched over me and the cyst has gone. I would say don't give up. No telling how long it could take but there is always hope! x

I had a cyst on my ovary and they removed it by key hole surgery and not long after fell pregnant. i couldn't fall pregnant because of the cyst.

like emma, i also had a friend who had an ovary removed. she had the surgery done around sophomore year in high school because of a cyst. she was told last year it would be unlikely that she would ever have children...but guess what!!! april 18th was her 1st wedding anniv. & she & her husband are expecting any day now even though shes not due until may 29th (she has preeclampsia).

Yes, I currently suffering from polycystic ovarian syndrome. We've been trying for #2 for awhile and no luck. I really dont want to go on meds but I think Im going to have to. I hope yours is not that serious. Good Luck

My friend got pregnant after having surgery to remove one of her ovaries (different reason). So it can happen. I'm sure you're petrified, but amazing things can happen.
