My 8-month old daughter holds her head slightly tipped to the right side. I noticed it about 3 days ago. She can twist her neck side to side when she is looking at things, but doesn't let me lift her head back or to the other side. Is this normal? I never noticed it before this and when I look back at pictures, her head is fine.

Torticollis. I would skip chiropractors and go discuss it with the pediatrician.

Take her to a chiropractor asap!

Yea just ask your doctor it's always a good choice if you don't know.

My daughter Mia is 4 months old, we went to the peditracian yesterday for shots. She asked if she turns her head to the left alot. She told me to turn it to the right if she is sleeping and to try to get her to look in the other direction. She also told me to stretch her neck to the right. Just by slightly pulling her neck. I would go visit my peditrican for sure.

It sounds like it may be Torticollis..... I work in Physio and every now and then we'll get an infant in our clinic with this. A stretching routine may be all she needs to stretch out the one tight side.

Best wishes :)

Hi Michelle, if this keeps up you may want to take her to your family doctor. I had the same thing happen (only my daughter was much younger at the time -2 months) and it turned out to be Torticollis (Wry Neck). It's when the muscle in the neck is tight and causes the head to tilt to the side. Physiotherapy helped to clear it up. I don't want to worry you but check with your doctor make sure. Who knows, she may have a slept on it funny and has a kink in her neck.

Do you believe in chiropracters? I took my colic son and it helped. My sister took her son when they were talking about putting tube in her sons ears due to ifections and he is now 11 and still hasn't needed surgery. You may think it is scary but the just pressure point babies. If they can't help may be able to refer you somewhere.

Or try massaging maybe she has a kink.
