Hi everyone! I'm just curious; where are you and what are the daycare costs like in your area? I am in Okotoks, Alberta (Calgary area) and for full time dc is is on average $900/month for one child. Day homes are a little less at around $700-800/month. For one day of care it is $80.

I don't know the cost of the daycares in my area other then the one I take my daughter too. We pay only for the days we use so if we use them for one day it's $20 and so on. A full week is $80 a day and that includes food and drinks....we provide diapers and an extra change of clothing. My friend, who will use my daycare starting in November, will have to pay $175 per week....I'm not sure of the day by day break down since his son will be 3 months at the time. They even take your child if they are sick and will give them their medications......they have a sick room.

I live in Illinois and its fairly expensive here to have you looked in your local paper sometimes you will find sitters in there much more reasonable or have you considered a college student.Sometimes to you acn find a stay at home mom looking to make a little extra. There is also a website you can check called www.citysitters.com which does background checks ect on them first and includes former employer referances its a website desighned by moms for moms and covers most of the USA i hope this helps

I live in Salt Lake City Utah. For my infant I pay $224/week, making it nearly $900/month. I was also told when I registered him that the tuition doesn't go down until they get into the 2-year-old class :(

Here is Kelowna, BC I charge $5/hr up to $35/day. For a month I would charge $800. This is for an unliscenced dayhome. I have heard that most daycares here are about $1000/month.

I live in central Florida and in my area the daycare runs about $150 a week. I thought that was a lot until I started reading what you moms in other areas are paying! I don't use daycare because I love being a SAHM but the ones in my area, it's the weekly cost and you get up to 50 hours a week. There are no per day costs unless you go through someone who does it in their home.
