Did any of your kids have fever while teething?

My daughter has low grade fever, 99.3 to 99.7 at highest. She has symptoms of teething, excessive drooling, chewing on everything she can get her hands on, and slight crankiness at times. I can rub her gums with my finger and she bites down on it, and it seems to make her feel better. Just wondering if the fever is part of teething and if there are any other symptoms of teething you may have experience. Thank you

Yup, my 17 month old son is getting his back teeth in now and he had a fever of 102...talk about freek me out. We took him to the Dr. and she said "he is just teething, nothing to worry about". So I suppose it is normal.

Yes, all of them. It's very commong. Of course, there's the drooling and my oldest child actually had diarrhea as well. None of my children had a lot of pain - they were able to comfort themselves with a teething ring and didn't need pain relievers.

Yuppers totally normal just make sure it doesn't get over the danger zone... or if the fever doesn't go down when tylonal is administered that means there's a different problem and you should have the doc check her out. Other then that tylonal and teething tabs are my best friend when my son teeths...

OK, as a nurse and a mom, you're kiddo will be fine. I highly recommend Hyland's Teething tabs or Humphrey's Teething tabs. I'm all homeopathic, organic, natural (because as a nurse you find out what all those drugs & chemicals *do*) and so are these tabs...they are harmless if gotten into and just dissolve under the tongue. They make your kiddo feel so much better all the way around. You can find these tabs at your local health food store.

OMG, Im talking103, I rushed him to emergency to find out hes teething with 2 teeth erupting. Yes they get fevers. Find whatever works, chew toys, pacifiers that fill with water, non toxic rubber spoons (try special needs). The crankiness may be gas in addition to the teething because of all the crying, air intake and the such, swallowing too much saliva. Remember All shall pass with age, as soon as the teeth come thru you must stop giving the baby chew things because they will literally bite thru the object always be mindfull of changes in everything your child does. take care.

Yes it is, my daughter had a slight fever while teething. if it gets higher than 100 though, either give her tylenol or call the doc.

hi, i wrked in a nursery and have seen many children teething, all children cope differntly but yes a fever can be from teething so can runny nappies and bad nappy rash.

my son is teething atm, he has got nappy rash and a high temp. but he also has a chest infection so fever can be from either.

yep totally normal, mt eldest and my youngest both got fevers, rashes around the mouth and butt, and drooled like crazy. My youngest even gets raised lymph nodes around her neck! (so if you feel lumps don't panic like I did lol)

Fevers can definitely be part of teething!
