I had a miscarriage and became pregnant again within a week. I now have a healthy daughter. I had some of the same symptoms I had had with the first pregnancy within three weeks and then a home test showed up positive so I went to the doctor worried it was something from the miscarriage and lo and behold they confirmed I was pregnant again.

Dr's normally tell you to wait 2 -3 cycles after a miscarriage. I had a miscarriage August 1st of this year, I went for my follow up with my ob after the miscarriage and found out I was pregnant again, conceived two weeks after the miscarriage. I am now 26 weeks and the baby is healthy and everything is going great. I was very worried and at times still am but everything is going well. So yes you can get pregnant right away....

yes i did. i tried straight away and got pregnant straight away, and it was hard going because a miscarraige really takes it toll on your body and you really should give your body and mind to recover. so a miscarraige one month and then getting pregnant the following month is hard work on the body. i was told to wait a while but i felt i couldnt because of my age i was 39 at the time.

Just reading all of these brings tears to my eyes-what a painful experience in my life...I wish I would have had all these comments to read after I had my miscarriage 2 yrs ago! :) But anyway, my doctor did tell me to wait to try for 3 months so my body could get back to normal...I think I got pregnant 2 or 2 1/2 mo. later and had my little Hope 13 monts ago! What a blessing. Good luck!

Miscarriages can be do devastating... but they are very common too. I didn't realize this until after I had my first miscarrage. It took 4 months to get pregnant again... just try to relax and don't feel like you must get pregnant... it will happen.

[deleted account]

I think it depends on if you had a D and C or not you are clear to start trying again. I think you are supposed to let your body (and cycle) recover if this is the case. Mine happened really early on (5 weeks) and I miscarried on my own so my dr. told me it wouldn't be a problem to try right away, and I got pregnant soon after. sorry for your loss, and hope that have the best of luck trying again! :

I had a natural miscarriage. (Passed everything on my own like a period, rather then having it 'scraped' clean.) My levels weren't completely dropped before I was pregnant again. I miscarried (lost the baby) Feb. 14, 2006. I conceived less than a month later, had a completely normal & healthy baby girl December 19, 2006!

Don't lose hope. When you are ready, go for it! It can happen at any time. :) Best of luck, and I am sorry for your loss.

I had a miscarriage a few years ago and waited two years before falling pregnant again, I really feel for you as it is never a good thing to go through. Since then I have looked after myself better by clearing myself of toxins and heavy metals in my endocrine system. I also helped myself by eating organic and supplementing with minerals and vitamins. I am able to coach you through this process if you wish. You may benefit from a hormone cream I can supply you which is important to settle your hormones in general life but especially after a miscarriage. I got pregnant right after a miscarriage (the following month) and ended up losing that baby as well. The doctor then suggested a wait of 3 months before getting pregnant again to make sure your hormones and everything are normal again. That is what I did, and my 3rd try was successful. I went on to have 3 more successful pregnancies after my daughters birth 28 yrs ago.

I had a mis in Aug. and I became pregnant at the beginning of Nov. My son is now turning 8 and had sensory issues. Whether this was due to the small waiting period I'll never know, but he has outgrown his issues and is doing great. I would say wait until you feel it's the right time for you, not just the right amount of time. All the best.

I lost my first baby and waited a while before I tried again, it kind of scares you, or at least it did me. And then I tried again and lost another baby and 3 months later was pregnant again with my son. Everyone is different and you have to be willing to deal with whatever happens. After my son, I lost 2 more, and he is now just 9 and I am expecting my second finally. Sometimes there are mediacal reasons though and sometimes it just happens, if you are concerened, then talk to your doctor and maybe go and see a woman's specialist, that really helped me out. I hope everything works out for you!

I miscarried April 22nd, got pregnant with a healthy boy in July. It's very common to miscarry. It's only high risk after 3 in a row. Keep trying!

i didnt exactly plan on falling pregnant when i did with alex. not that he's a mistake by any means but it was scary to think about what might go wrong. my first pregnancy ended on friday 13th of june 2008 and when i fell pregnant again i was due december 7th and the first time i was due december 6th. it was a freaky coincidence, but i think it really all depends on how your feeling after it all. if your depressed (like i was) dont do it just to fill the hole in your heart, do it when your ready. always talk to people too, ask what they think, that helps alot.

Hi Lauren,

I'm a grandmother now, but I had 3 miscarriages many years ago. I did get pregnant within months of each miscarriage. After the third miscarriage, I went to an OB-GYN fertility specialist and learned that I suffered from an "incompetent cervix". That simply meant that once the fetus got to a certain weight, my cervix couldn't support that weight. The solution was really quite simple---I had a "stitch" put into the opening of the cervix (also known as a cerclage). This happened at month 3 of my last pregnancy. The stitch was removed about 3 weeks before my due date and all went well. That "baby" is now 26 years old!

While I don't know the circumstances of your miscarriage, I would strongly suggest that if you have had more than one miscarriage, that you seek out the advice of a specialist.

Best of luck to you, Lauren!

Janet

First of all, sorry you have gone through a miscarriage - I feel for you. I was told after my miscarriage, that ideally you should wait to have 3 periods before 'trying' again. In reality, I fell pregnant before that, probably at around 11 weeks, but do what ever feels right for you. (You won't really be feeling like a whole load of sex anyhow!)

Well, it is recommended usually to wait 3 months. I miscarried at 13 weeks in October 2007 and got pregnant in November 2007. I miscarried that one at 5 weeks. Then the very next month, I conceived again and he is now 16 months old =) Hang in there. I KNOW how hard this time must be for you. I am very sorry for your loss.

I had a 7 1/2 week ectopic pregnancy in my right tube (last miscarriage), I nearly died from internal bleeding. I had an emergency operation and they removed my right tube. I got pregnant 2nd cycle later. Which is amazing with what my body had just been through. I also only had one tube left. I ended up having a healthy daughter, I already had 3 boys and and had lost one of their twins (2nd miscarriage lost at home), (1st miscarriage) I had to have a curette at 10 weeks to remove a feotus due to no heart beat. I waited 2 years before I got pregnant again.

I had a mc and then the next month was pregnant again with my beautiful son! It is very possible. But I'd like to add your body will work itself out and when it is right, it will happen.

[deleted account]

Very sorry to hear about your miscarriage. I miscarried at 6 weeks and was told to wait till I had one full menstral cycle, then could start trying again. Once that happened, I used ovulation tests to help ensure we got pregnant right away, and we did. Now we are going to be celbrating my daughter's first birthday next month!

i got pregnant again the very next month without a period in between, unfortunatly that pregnancy also resulted in a miscarriage. i got pregnant a third time the very next month again, again with no period in between, i now have a very health baby girl who is 10 months old. i think it really depends on you and weather emtionally your ready to try again. some want to try again right away and some dont.

The chinese believe that after a miscarriage its important to nourish the body so its in peak condition for the next pregnancy. Lots of healthy, nourishing foods, cut out the junk, lots of water. (ideally warm water which doesnt make the body too 'hot' or too 'cold'. Coffees, tea, juices are allowed but as always everything in moderation. Plenty of rest. Basically everything you would have done to recover if you have been ill. Your body has been through a pretty traumatic experience.

Do hang in there. I had two miscarriages and now have two boys aged 2 1/2 and 4 1/2.

Good luck

Hi, I fell pregnant 6 months after my miscarriage. I lost twins at 18 weeks so I was not really trying to get pregnant. Everything woked out fine and my son is now 2 years old and I also have a little girl who is 13 weeks old. It is up to you when you want to start trying again but please don't let it put you off.

I had two miscarriages...one before each child...i was pregnant by the next month with my boy and girl. Both are perfectly healthy but the second time around it was harder on my body. They say to give it couple of months to help the womb heal. But it is possible to get pregant right after.

My first pregnancy ended when I was 4 days past my due date & found that I had suffered a 'fetal demise" that was October '96 My husband & I decided that we were going to try again, so as soon as I was given medical clearance, it was "priority one" I would say we got the green light in December, and my son was born 9/17/97. He came home with us about 2 weeks before the one year anniversary date of my daughters passing. After his birth I had 2 additional miscarrages (first trimester) one in 11/99 and again in 3/00. Finally we were successful on the 3rd try (10/00)and my daughter was born 7/01.

I too am sorry for what you are going through. I had one too, and at the time thought I would never be able to have another baby, so I went out and bought a dog. She (my dog) helped me through it mentally and emotionally. However, I got pregnant a couple of months later, to my surprise. And he is now a 2 1/2 year old terror, but I love him. I have two boys, so my dog is still my little girl.

My doc told me to wait 3 months before getting pregnant again after a miscarriage so the chances of another miscarriage would be slim. I did just that. I waited 3 months after my miscarriage and got pregnant w/ my first child. She is not 4 months old! Don't worry. You will get pregnant again very soon! Good Luck!
