Did you get your daughters ears pierced? If so, at what age? If not, what were your reasons for not doing so?

To me having their ears pierced is mutilating them if they aren't old enough to make that decision for themselves. In our house when you go to high school (that's 12 here) you can get your ears pierced once anything else you can do it when you leave home.

We had our daughter's ears pierced when she was 7 months old. Wish we had done it a little earlier, but it all worked out fine. She didn't really seem to notice them for quite a while, and by the time she did start messing with them, they were healed and we had no problems.

No, we're letting her make that decision herself. My sister and I didn't even WANT ours done until we were 4 or 5 years old. They have to be atleast six months old and have all their recommended shots.

i got my twins done when they were babys as long as they have their first set of shots they are allowed... and i have no problems changing them or cleaning them.. i think they were about 4 months or so ( my husband who was coming home from basic was going to meet them and they are identical twins so it was to help with telling them apart for him) and still to this day at 3 years old they like to pick out their own earings (whick are never the same as the others lol) and let me put them im when its time to change them.. ( and i did talk with their doctor first about it as well and they said it was fine as long as they were real earrings and they were up to date with shots...)

Never mentioned it to my girls, but my daughter said sh e wanted them peirced when she was five. Then my four year old wanted her pierced. After about five months my five year old , now six, let me take them out and change them. She then took them out and wouldnt let me put them back in. holes grew up. My four yr old still hasnt let me change hers and its been about nine months!! She freaks out if I touch them. if I could do it all over I would have waited til they were atleast ten and could take care of them. But thats just my girls..i was 13 when I got mine pierced.
