Fabric softener sheets (dryer sheets) can be used like 'magic erasers' to take pencil or crayon off walls, and scuff marks off tile, linoleum, wood or vinyl floors.

So does putting some spit on them....I know that sounds gross but it works.

Paw paw ointment is awesome - it is and antiseptic, draws pus out of infection and will help draw out splinters if put on a bandaid over the infected sites.  Works on nappy rash too.  I don't go anywhere without it.  It has been a sworn remedy in our family since at least my grandmother!

I dilute Listerine in a spray bottle and use it as a bug repellent. I have what is called "sweet blood"- meaning all the bugs come after me first! This works great- and you smell minty fresh :)

To ease swelling due to bee stings, rub half of a fresh onion on sting site(s). It worked for my sister after she was stung about 6-7 times by a bumblebee. She didn't smell the best (unless you like raw onion smell) but the swelling went down fast. My mom has also used it on wasp stings although it's not quite as effective.

The best treatment I've found for very dry skin or diaper rash is Bag Balm-at type of cow udder cream. Some Walmarts carry it but the easiest place to find it is in a feed store

to remove little foren objects (lash, dirt ect) from little eyes use your ring. Any ring with an even surface (like a wedding band) will do. Run the inside of your ring over the childs closed eye, starting by the nose and finishing at the outside corner. Because the ring and eyeball are roughly the same shape the ring will push whatevers in the eye to the corner.

Lavender & peppermint oil on the temples will help tension headaches.

A cold compress on the back of the neck can also relieve headaches - it depends what is causing it, but a lot of headaches are due to the neck being put out, so it's worth a try - it works a lot of times.

Uses for WD-40:

Here are some other uses:

1. Protects silver from tarnishing.

2. Removes road tar and grime from cars.

3. Cleans and lubricates guitar strings.

4. Gives floors that 'just-waxed' sheen without making them slippery.

5. Keeps flies off cows.

6. Restores and cleans chalkboards.

7. Removes lipstick stains.

8. Loosens stubborn zippers.

9. Untangles jewelry chains.

10. Removes stains from stainless steel sinks.

11. Removes dirt and grime from the barbecue grill.

12. Keeps ceramic/terra cotta garden pots from oxidizing.

13. Removes tomato stains from clothing.

14. Keeps glass shower doors free of water spots.

15. Camouflages scratches in ceramic and marble floors.

16. Keeps scissors working smoothly.

17. Lubricates noisy door hinges on vehicles and doors in homes.

18. It removes black scuff marks from the kitchen floor! Use WD-40 for those nasty

tar and scuff marks on flooring. It doesn't seem to harm the finish and you won't

have to scrub nearly as hard to get them off. Just remember to open some

windows if you have a lot of marks.

19. Bug guts will eat away the finish on your car if not removed quickly! Use WD-40!

20. Gives a children's playground gym slide a shine for a super fast slide.

21. Lubricates gear shift and mower deck lever for ease of handling on riding mowers..

22. Rids kids rocking chairs and swings of squeaky noises.

23. Lubricates tracks in sticking home windows and makes them easier to open.

24. Spraying an umbrella stem makes it easier to open and close.

25. Restores and cleans padded leather dashboards in vehicles, as well as vinyl

bumpers.

26. Restores and cleans roof racks on vehicles.

27. Lubricates and stops squeaks in electric fans.

28. Lubricates wheel sprockets on tricycles, wagons, and bicycles for easy handling.

29. Lubricates fan belts on washers and dryers and keeps them running smoothly.

30. Keeps rust from forming on saws and saw blades, and other tools.

31. Removes splattered grease on stove.

32. Keeps bathroom mirror from fogging.

33. Lubricates prosthetic limbs.

34. Keeps pigeons off the balcony (they hate the smell).

35. Removes all traces of duct tape.

36. Folks even spray it on their arms, hands, and knees to relieve arthritis pain.

37. Florida 's favorite use is: 'cleans and removes love bugs from grills and bumpers.'

38. The favorite use in the state of New York , WD-40 protects the Statue of Liberty

from the elements.

39. WD-40 attracts fish. Spray a little on live bait or lures and you will be catching the

big one in no time. Also, it's a lot cheaper than the chemical attractants that are

made for just that purpose. Keep in mind though, using some chemical laced baits

or lures for fishing are not allowed in some states.

40. Use it for fire ant bites. It takes the sting away immediately and stops the itch.

41. WD-40 is great for removing crayon from walls. Spray on the mark and wipe with

a clean rag.

42. Also, if you've discovered that your teenage daughter has washed and dried a tube

of lipstick with a load of laundry, saturate the lipstick spots with WD-40 and

rewash. Presto! The lipstick is gone!

43. If you sprayed WD-40 on the distributor cap, it would displace the moisture and

allow the car to start.

P. S. The basic ingredient is FISH OIL.

if u have a stain from juice/or such, dampen with a cloth - sprinkle baking soda on top. let sit for just a few minutes even and then wipe clean with your cleaning rag. cleans the spot right off...pour baking soda down your kitchen drain, then pour vinegar (or even pop) and it unclogs the drain! a natural cleanser! instead of the ones with all the harsh chemicals...was awesome when i found out all that!

if your kid has an earache, take half an onion warm it up in the microwave, wrap it in a slightly damp paper towel and have the kid hold it to its ear. I know, it stinks, and they'll definitely need a shower afterwards, but it works.

For any kind of bug bite, go to a health food store, get activated charcoal, pour a capsule or two into a slightly damp paper towel and fold it inside (don't let it lea and get on your clothes, it stains bad) and hold it on the bite, it draws out the poison. my dad used it on a brown recluse bite and it worked, saved a lot of money in hospital bills.

Carrie, I am not sure where you are.  The one I buy I can just purchase at the supermarket, but I am in Australia and the brand I buy (Lucas' Pawpaw Ointment) is Australian made. But I am sure you can get it elsewhere, surely?  It really is fantastic.  You know those scrapes the kids get that they won't let you scrub clean?  They are happy for you to put this stuff on with a bandaid......and I've never had an infection of a dirty scrape.  It keeps it "clean" from the germs, and is a natural product.

In the US, there's an ointment called a drawing salve (don't remember the medical name).  It works the same way.  It smells really nasty, but it'll "draw out" anything like a splinter.  My mom got some when I had a cactus plant fall on me and we couldn't get all the tiny spikes out of my hand.  We just smeared the salve on and put a band aid over it and they came out on their own.  Just go to the pharmacy counter at your local store (I know we ended up getting ours at WalMart.) and ask them where to find a drawing salve.

If a child has a splinter but wont let you near them with tweezers of needle (for the deep ones), put a spot of white glue over the splinter. When the glue dries, peel it off and almost 100% of the time the splinter comes out with it!
