We were thinking to much, almost 7-8 months. We are still not sure if we made the right decision, but we believe and hope that we will never need it for any kond of treatment.
In my country, Macedonia, we pay 1400 eur for this service, but in the next 20 years we don`t pay anything.

I tried to donate them but after filling out the form, having it sent back with another form, then getting another sheet asking for family medical history I could not find out about i gave up. I was not storing them for my own personal use, we were going to donate. I am in canada and I am not sure if we can store them for personal use or not. I wanted to but ended up not doing it.

yup we did - just b/c you never know what kind of advances in medicine there will be in the future. we paid less than 1000 US - i don't remember how much it was but I think it was 700 0r 800 (we got a discount b/c I am a "medical professional") & it costs us roughly 100 US per year for storage.

I wish i did because you never know. My boyfriends family has cancers and heart dieases in his family. But the cord was wrap around his neck so the doctors ended up cutting it.

We donated both of our kids cells because the likely hood of your childs cells matching with anyone in the family is slim. There is a much greater likelyhood that it will match a complete stranger. The cells will carry any abnormality that is genetic so therefore it cannot be used to treat something that the cells carry.
