My child has been fighting strep all of his life.He gets it when he has allegic reactions, all of the time. He does have to be around people who has it to get it. I am getting tried of it. its been nine years. And he gets it at least 10 times out the year( strep and scarfever). Now he is getting pneumonia. He has had that twice in two months. What should I do? Its alot more going on its just I don't know what it is. They say he will grow out of it but instead he is getting worst. He just came home from the hospital Saturday evening after beening there for 4 days. They couldn't find anything except his esophagus is acting abnormal. Please help! I am so lost. This is the main illness that he has besides the others. I need some kind of direction. Thanks for taking time out to read. Have a nice day!

He has food allergies peanuts, milk, red dye(liquid only), wheat, bananas, peanut butter, nuts, bee stings, certain wood chips, dimetap and codine. He take albutol for his bronchioles spasms. All of his tonsils where remove and his adnoids. they check for regrowth every year after the surgery. He is a blizzar case if you knew how he react to certain sickness and illness, you would be clueless. He was so sick this time the doctors knew they were going to find something. but they found nothing. Four different doctors was on this this time because the last two said he was blazzar and his symptoms were very unusal.

There are actually 4 sets of tonsils, one behind the other going down the throat. Since he's had the main ones you can see removed (if not all), it's likely not the cause anymore. You should still see a specialist, especially with a tumor having been removed from his throat. It's all related to the immune system and it could be a flag that he needs some help. Is he an active child? Pneumonia is a bit odd if he is, and should be a concern for the doctor. It's related to breathing deeply. A pulmonologist would be a good one to see, as well as immunologist. Also, does he have major food allergies or anything? Sometimes they're all tied together.

No they didn't grow back. He had a tumor remove from his mouth and throat at 7 1/2 years old. and went to the doctor yearly for that. Even that was blizzar because he had no symptoms at all. He had allergy test done. he has food allergies and medicine allergies.

He had his tonsils and adnoids remove at 4years olds. he stills gets it. He has two ENT at two different locations and hospitals. He has a GI doctor as well as a neurologist and his regular Pedi. where there are two doctors there that he sees. He has had blood cultures done. like they said it is blizzard. Is there any name illness that has these as symtons. I need whatever anyone can give as far as info go. Thanks for taking time out to read. Have a nice day!

The tonsils can start to harbor the bacteria and the back and underneath the tonsils (the parts you cant see) So even when you think you have cleared the infection the tonsils are actually chronically infected and can NEVER heal. My son had strep 8 times in one school year and we saw and ENT who recommended tonsillectomy. We have not had any strep since then (it is possible to get strep after tonsillectomy but it is rare).

Definitely see an ENT (Otolaryngologist). They will be able to guide you on the strep but also they can guide you on the esophagus issue. I would be shocked if the ENT did not recommend tonsillectomy.

Well if this were me i would be raising hell at the hospital and demanding proper care, with an answer, even if you have to go to another hospital. Obviously something is causing this and hopefully there is medicine to help him. My heart goes out to you and i really hope you get an answer soon.

Has he had an allergy work up to confirm allergies? An ENT visit may help. It does not seem okay to keep getting sick. If his esphagus is acting up what does that mean? Does he need to see a gastroenterolgy. Good Luck !

i would seek another opinion. find an ear nose and throat specialist or a pulmonologist and get a second opinion... one of those can order blood work to check for a compromised immune system..... keep fighting though, dont ever stop til you have an answer. just keep finding specialists until one of them gives you an answer. good lucK!

Please see a medical expert and seek a treatment or some sort of medical attention. Don't hesitate to find an expert one because they knew the right intervention of what to do. Then, don't forget to pray wholeheartedly and He will help you.

I was the sick kid. My kids are for the most part disgustingly healthy.

I got strep over and over and over in a year. Wreaked havoc with my mothers' job.

I didn't grow out of it totally.

I got strep several times a year until my 20s. I still get struck with mystery fevers now & then. I just got over tonsilitis.

Once upon a time doctors used to do to many tonsilectomies. Removing the tonsils. I came along at the just right (sarcasm) time for them to change their minds and I've hated my tonsils all my life. Doctor after doctor has suggested I have them removed but of course since it is no longer mainstream - you have to be on friggen deaths death to get approved for it with your insurance companies.

Now I'm saving up - at my ridiculously advanced age - to have the bastards removed.
