How old were your kids when they played educational games on your computer? I am thinking about getting a desktop computer for my 3 1/2 year old and 20 month old so that they can play educational games. Just wondering what do you think?

My kids are 2 and 8 months so no. And probably not until they're in school. If I let them play games it'd be on my old laptop.

Occassionally I will allow them to if they are supervised, but they have their own learning laptops.

My nearly 4 yr old got a cars one for xmas, it has 15 in built games in it that cover numbers letters and problem solving. He is a whizz at the typing game

My son has been fascinated with the computer for a very long time now. My husband has downloaded music videos for him to watch. He's pretty good at many things. We still set him up and watch him. He does visit starfall.com, but he doesn't really play games on the computer yet. He likes to play games with Dad on the XBox 360. He is also a whiz at navigating Netflix on the Wii!

goodness no. I need the computers to pay bills and other stuff so no. It's not a toy. They have their own toy computers to use. If school projects need to be done then my hubby and I will monitor.

my son was using a fisher and price toy attachment for the computer at about 18 months. just press buttons and you got different animals and sounds. my son is now 5 and uses my lap top for movies and certain games. sesame street and athletics. he also uses my iPad. they do start using computers in pre primary. but you have to remember kids are not gentle and may break numerous key boards. (mine didn't but friends kids have)

Both of my girls have been playing games on the computer since they were about 18 months old. We just have it set up so they can't access anything or break anything important.

We start the game up and supervise and they are only allowed a max of 15 minutes at a time. My youngest (just turned 2) still has trouble with the mouse, but my oldest (3 1/2) is starting to get the hang of it.
