What kind do you have. What is the best feature on it. What do you think is a 'must have' feature. I know I could look it up on the internet, but I have know idea what I would be looking for. Yes I am that ancient. Are they expensive? Approx how much. I could use some advice please. Thank you in advance.

R u asking about an IPad or IPhone? The Ipad is not a phone it is a wireless tablet that offers u access to the Internet where wi-fi is available u also can use it as an educational device for kids. We have a 16gb wi-fi iPad 2 and most of the apps we have on it r kids apps for our 3rd old daughter, we have a counting app where he has to touch each picture on the screen and it counts out loud too her. We also have a spelling app and flashcard apps to help her learn her words our 20month old son loves the old macdonald app which sings the song to him and he can touch the animals and hear the sounds they make. I love it and it's not hard to use. My dad is 57 and has an iphone4 and loves it. U can also download movies on it too.

Shannin, before my iPhone, I had a laptop I used to take with me, but it was seriously too bulky. I needed a new phone, and now I'm finding the iPhone quite handy because it is seriously compact. But if you aren't interested in the phone part, the iPad could be the way to go, because they are very compact too. Not "put in your pocket" compact, but still pretty compact. I just like th phone because I can throw it in my purse and off I go :D

Yess, it does get rather boring sitting waiting for the kids at their sports, and yet sometimes it isn't worth the trip to go home because you'd just be turning around to pick them up again. And they aren't always old enough to just drop off an leave (my daughter isn't old enough yet).

Shannin, I think you need to first decide what you want or need in a phone. Do you want internet, texting, or just a simple phone. Most phones now are gonna have texting as an option, but you don't need to purchase it in your comtract. Basically, more options you want, the more you pay for. I am actually typing all this out on my phone, obviously on the internet. a phone like the Evo, or iphone....it is like a handheld laptop that you can talk on. do you need or want all that?

I have the sprint HTC Evo, and I love it. We did not wwnt at&t as or provider, too many dropped calls. My sister has at&t, and everytime I am on the phone with her, her phone drops calls 3 times or more. It is a pain in the ass, and there are at&t towers every where around here. It should not be happening.

Thank you Sheri for your input. I have decided that ipad or iphone are not for me. I dont like the flat screen. I cant work them. I need keys under my fingers to feel comfortable. But an ipad for learning for my kids might be the thing. But I think it will be a little while because they are so expensive. Thanks you though for your time and effort. :)

@ M.I.L.F.
Are the IPADs a little pricey? Do you really like the one you have? Is there any feature that you want but don't have, besides the phone connection? Any suggestions would be great. Thanks.

@ Marina - Yes I want all that but I don't care about the phone part. So I am thinking what I really want is an i-pad? Not sure. I want something that I can type on when lets say I am at a stupid ...oops I mean, when I am watching my son's football practice. I want a computer on the go. Thanks for suggesting to think about all the features that I want.

Jodi, I am almost serious. Okay this was my second phone from a million years ago. I cant text on it, really! I have no clue how to do that. I have it in my car for emergencies only. I really want a new phone. I thought I phones are the only ones out there now. But I guess I am wrong about that. Mine flips open and everything. I mean old. I am techno challenged. But I want to know more about Blackberry? Are they different than I phones or is it iphones. Am I making my point here. Seriously I know nothing about them. ha ha

I have an iPhone and love that I can get on the Internet anywhere or anytime. It comes in really handy when my 5 year old is using my laptop and won't get off. It also comes in handy when I need to keep the kids entertained with all the games and music I can download and the YouTube videos I can play for them. I have found some really awesome apps like recipe finder, and one where I can create my grocery list so I never leave it at home. My husband and I also use our iPhones to shoot picture and video, we dont even carry a digital camera anymore. I really could go on and on about how great it is, and Shannin it's pretty easy to figure out my son has been able to use it since he was 3 1/2.

Shannin, you couldn't possibly be the first person to get a cell phone......was it before 1994? Admittedly, I was rather late getting one when I got my first back then.

And if so, how the HECK does that same phone work? LOL. I've gone through more phones than you can imagine. But how do you text message on it? You couldn't SMS on the old phones......it was the days when it was just a phone.....

Yes, I just got my iPhone last week. We decided, with our businesses, we kind of needed it. I'm actually loving the Google Maps app, the weather app, and even the FB app. I haven't really done a lot more with it at this point, but honestly the Sudoku and Crosswords come in handy when I'm sitting around at football training for an hour and it's too dark to read :P

No I-phone for me i don't live off my phone and only really have one for emergencies, and to be contacted when not at home. As long as a phone can ring and receive calls and store numbers, and photo's I'm happy...

I have the cheap phone that you get for free when you sign up for a plan. I can call people, text people and have voice mail. No internet or camera. It works perfectly for my needs. I have a laptop with internet, so I don't need it on my phone. And I have a little digital camera in my purse anyway. Ontop of that, an iPhone is terribly expensive, not only the phone, but also the monthly fees. You should look if you really want to spend that money and really need it. I agree that an iPhone is a nice toy and cool to have, but I don't really need it, so the price/fees wouldn't be justified. I have a $25/month plan.

Thank you. It sounds a lot more complicated than I thought. This may take some time and investigating. Thank you. : )

I do have an iPhone because they changed the software on my old Nokia so that I couldn't schedule all of my husband's doctor visits, dialysis sessions and so on. The only thing on the market now that does that kind of scheduling is something like an iPhone or a Blackberry. For me, thus, the scheduling option is the best thing. However, because of the internet available I do all sorts of things, such as get maps when I am lost, check the weather, use my phone as a timer and as an alarm clock, check my email, check Facebook, and so on.

My daughter also has an iPhone because, when I sent her off to college, I wanted her to have internet everywhere in case a problem comes up. She can find a mechanic, call me, get directions, or whatever.

No one else in my family has an iPhone or any of the equivalent phones from other makers. My dad has a Jitterbug, and everyone else has just a regular, simple phone.

I was one of the first people to ever have a cell phone. The problem is I still have the same phone. I think it is time to get a new one. Do you?
