Does anyone have a child whom only vomits mostly at night time, and around the same time each night?

I am just getting frustrated, annoying to change sheets all the time. He is having further tests done with GP, but just wondered if there were any other mothers out there whose children have the same thing?

I don't want to frighten you, but do want you to be aware of a slight possibility. I watched one of those mystery diagnosis shows and a girl was having the same kind of problem and it ended up being a type of seizure and that was how her body handled it, by vomiting, at night, same time usually. It took them a long time to find out what it was.

Depending on age of child, allergy to formula or certain type of food maybe. Could the child have reflux?

my son would cough a lot and puke at night. turns out it was because of reflux. laying flat while there was milk in his tummy made it come back up. now i have to make sure he is sitting up for 30 mins after eating, and he doesnt have a bottle at bedtime. to diagnose the problem, he just had to have a simple x-ray procedure where he just layed there and drank contrast and they x-rayed how it went down and what his stomach did.

I would try feeding a little bit eariler before she falls asleep. try feeding about 30mins prior. My son use to all the time after eating. I changed formulas that help babies that do that ... if the babie is older and aloud to have whole milk.. i would try only alowing juice before they go for nap or sleep at night. Babies after 4 months can have juice just add water to it as well. I do hope things get better.

It occured with my son around age 3. General conclusion was allergies - a post nasal drip was happening and after being in bed, laying down, by 2am it upset his stomach enough to vomit. Thankfully it only lasted several weeks.

My daughter did this from 2-4 years old. She is now 7. She would vomit every night and it was would not have any color in it. It would only happen in the middle of the night and sounded like she was choking. It was the most terrifying experience because the doctors could not figure it out. She finally seem to outgrow whatever it was. I hope anyway since it has not happened in about 2-3 years.

thanks for your reply but, he is 3 years old going on 4, I try to offer him milk, he does not like it, he only has milk with cereal. Anyway, thanks for the thought, he is having further tests with GP. He will get better, just have to do tests to know what is wrong:)

it depends how old the child is but i have found out that if i give my daughter milk before bed that it doesnt sit well on her stomach and she will throw up like that at the same time each night so if she wants anything before bed i give her water. but if yoour child is still an formula it might just be it. i had to change my daughters formula 3 times in order to find out that she i s just like i was when i was a baby. i was lactose intolerant. so i had to put her in soy formula, which is not bad for them. its actually better for them. shes is 2 now and my step son is 5 and i still but soy milk for them and they love it!! they especially like chocolate soy milk.. good luck!!!
