I have what you need! My mom is a nurse and my sisters and I all have eczema. So she suggested using Elidel and it works wonders. Of course, it is a prescription and you would have to talk to your childs doctor about it. I hope this helps.

Quoting Meagan:

I would suggest going to the doctor, My son has exzema when the weather changes, and he gave us Hydrocortisone. It works really well, it is hard to find things that are over the counter for sensitive skin that actually work. As well bathe your babe in mild pure soaps like Dove, and any other mild non-fragranced soap, and add a little baby oil to the water, that would soothe his skin..

my daughter gets it every once in awhile, we also use hydrocortisone, and also the doc sugested cetiphil lotion and body wash. the cetiphil lotion works even better if you get your hands wet and rub the skin with damp hands and then put the lotion on, it hydrates better.

I also agree with the above comment about nutrition. Whole fruits and vegetables, lots of water, also help eczema. I heard about that berry and am very interested in it. I have heard of people eating it for losing weight or something like that.

Hi there! Arbonne Botanical Products sells a Baby care line. I actually use the body lotion for my eczema. You need to purchase thru an independent consultant. I can sell to you if you'd like and it can be direct shipped to your home. Either way, good luck no matter what you find for your little one. Thanks, Patti White

My son had exzema so bad that we tried everything.  His face became red and raw.  It looked awful.  I stopped using any type of laundry detergent with "extra" stuff in it.  I sarted using Cetaphil soaps and cream on his skn.  Our doctor told us the baby line products have perfumes and other harsh chemicals in it that could make exzema worse.  We finally went to an allergist and discovered it was due to an egg allergy.  He was put on perscription creams that I had a hard time using due to the negative press at the time.  His exzema is cleared up for the most part.  He only has outbreaks on his hands (which he sucks his fingers) and I won't put much on them.  We use Aveno now it keeps him clear and no egg products.  You might check with your doctor if it is severe.

I strongly believe that all the lotions and soaps that are suppposed to help the problem, are the actual cause. I have started making my own lip balms, lotions, etc. as part of me going green. I no longer use detergents either. I wash my kids with castille soap which is organic and all vegetable based. No chemicals. I put a mixture of olive oil, honey, vitamin e, and pure aloe. I buy these online and they are certified organic. I don't buy anything from the regular store anymore because the aloe isn't pure it has additives and preservatives, also vitamin e in the store is not pure either. If you ever read when something says vitamin e acetate, that is not pure vitamin e, it is a manmade chemical in a lab somewhere. True vitamin e can be eaten and it is known as tocopheryl without the word acetate behind it. I think that to be truley natural you are able to eat it. I put things on my kids that you would be able to eat. (not the soap of course) I still battle environmental factors such as weather and the like but I see much improvement in their skin. I wash everything with soap nuts and baking soda and vinegar. All natural and better for the environment. It is also a lot of fun to make all your own stuff too.

We tried a variety of creams and lotions that made little to no difference for our girls.  We desperately wanted to discontinue the use of steriod creams and allergy meds.  Ironically, it wasn't a cream or loction that had the greatest impact on their exzema, but a fruit juice containing the acai berry.  Within a few months of regularly drinking, we saw a huge difference.  This company is really growing even in this economy because the product works!  It isn't a drug that treats, heals, or cures anything.  It is just excellent nutrition.  Call me if you would like more info.  440-610-2158

Depending on how old your child is, their MD might prescribe triamcinolone cream. It works great for my son, he's been using it since he was about 12mos.

I have always used Elidel for my children. You do need a prescription from the dr, but it goes a long way and is well worth it. Some dr's will even give you a small sample to try.

We have tried several lotions and creams for our daughters with little to no difference. We wanted them off of the allergy meds and steriod creams. However, the product that had the biggest effect on their eczema wasn't a lotion at all, but a fruit juice. Our girls started drinking this nutritional beverage containing the acai berry and we saw a huge improvement within a few months. The company that makes this product is the fastest growing privately held American corporation because the product works! Let me know if you would like more information about it. 440-610-2158.

Hi,

I have been an arbonne consultant for quite some time now and I have learned ONE thing about store boughten stuff, it really does the skin no good. There is chemical after chemical which just irratates the skin. My daughter has eczema behind both her ears. When i started using Arbonne products I was told that there is one product that would work excellent for Eczema. The product I use for her ears is called intelligence skin conditioning oil. It works like a charm, ever since i have been using it it is pretty much disapeared.

The nice thing about Arbonne products is that they ARE natural and derived from nature. There is no scent and the scent in any product you buy of the shelf is what irratates the skin. If you would like more information on these products please e-mail me at adkoyman@telus.net!

Thanks for your time. Ashley

My 7year old son use to have it severely, and now It's mild. We used aquaphor (over the counter) and Aquaphilic (behind the counter) the one with the blue lettering. And after he takes a bath I lather him up with the Aquaphor first then the other one. Works great. We also cut out dairy milk and that has helped him tremendously. I Treis everything and nothing worked but these two lotions. Hope it works for you.

You probably have a million different posts but my cousin has severe eczema from food allergies and the best thing for it was Crisco (cooking grease I guess it is).  It sounds bizarre and strange but it truly works and is not pricey. LOL.  Good luck. And I don't know if you've already figured it out but it is often caused by food allergies. My son had it too when he was little from citrus.

My son Elijah is 9 months and he also has eczema. Our pediatrician prescribed aveeno for when the weather is warm.Aveeno is more of a mild form of lotion. When the weather got cold the doc said we had to use something stronger and a bit thicker. We use aquaphor with the blue cap.It is kinda of pricey but it works really well. Also we were told to only bath use soap on his privates during the bath.Use just water on the rest.
