I suggest going back to the past. Lots of good names that were popular back in our grandmother's - or even great grandmother's day - are still nice, but have become unusual. Rose is making a comeback as is Clara. I think "Thelma" may be permanently retired, but look back in your family tree and see what you can find.

My advice to you is to look at your family heritage and see what your families names were... I wish I would have thought of this 23 years ago when I had my first child, good luck with the names :)
Thanks so much, I will

My daughters are Mihalia-Omosede Betty, and Jaida-Oghogho Angela. I am due in Feb. with #3 and am pretty set on Azariah Josephine for a girl and Azariah Ewaen for a boy. I REALLY love the name Azariah. ( I was going to use it for DD#2 but she was DEFINATELY a Jaida when she came out) He/she will recieve their Nigerian name once they are born, as the other 2 did

1 of my kids is claudia, which is normal but not common and i always wanted to name a daughter rowan. i first heard that name in the mayfair witches by anne rice. i'm not the kind of person to name a child after a character but i really liked that name. good luck!

We named our Daughter Aobhin, and our son Aonghus. Both are old Irish Gaelic names. The Irish baby books are great for unusual and beautiful names. Aobhin (E-veen) means 'radiant beauty' ANd Aonghus was the a Celtic god of love. Check out other cultural books as well, you never know what you might find!

I got the name from the Movie 8 seconds it is about a bullrider name Lane Frost.. To me it just sounded and sounds like a strong guy name. Hope this helps..let me know if anyone uses the name , to me that would be neat. Thanks and good day to all.

Forgot one more... i work for a school so i see alot of different ones and one that stuck out to me is Nevaeh, for a girl. I had to ask the mom cause it was so different - it is Heaven spelled backwards. I just loved that.

My boys names are Broc and Vaun. Haven't yet seen a Vaun in our school district yet but a few Broc's spelled Brock naturally. If i was going to have a girl I had the name Trinity picked out, love that for some reason. The other boy name I liked was Nash.

Thandi - pronounced "tundi" - It's a South African girls name meaning love.
Francesco (my 2 yr old name) - It's Italian. It's a Saints name - it's beautiful because it's a strong yet sweet name - Francesco D'Assisi, was the son of a wealthy family, who gave all of his material goods away to the poor - his family disowned him, so he went to live in the forest - because of his deep nuturing character, the forest creatures were attracted to him and protected him. He became famous for speaking to the animals. Only a beautiful and kind person could be capable of that, making Francesco one of the best names ever!!! I hope that my son will turn out to be kind, nuturing and generous!! Oh...Francesco D'Assisi is also the Patron Saint of Italy!!!
