For a girl I love Asia, Bianca, Toma (toe-ma) and Domna for boys I like all the popular names. Try looking up ancient names. Or popular names in other countrys. Italy, Egypt, Greece for a try!

I completely agree that older traditional names are the best, as well as looking into your family history. My son is called Fred Seaby (after Fred Astaire, and Seaby is a family name) and we are calling my unborn daughter Joan Muriel (after both her great-grandmothers). I think it's important that the first name is easy to spell, both for the child but also as they grow up, there is nothing more annoying than having to spell your name everytime you say it!!

Here's a girl name Iminii pronounced (m n e) or (em i knee). Never heard the name before or seen it spelled like this. This is my 4 year old daughter name. My husband came up with it from or names. Her middle name is Amour (love). It's all about him and I. We get tons of compliments everywhere we go.

my son's name is 'Maxaiden' his father's name is adrian but did'nt like that name so 'Aiden' came about' I wanted to call my son 'Max' but his dad said it was a dog's name lol, i was'nt getting on with his father at the time so i told him ''I tell you what i'll call him 'Maxaiden'. I'v never heard of anyone with that name and if I did they would definately be younger than my son who is now 19, he alway's get's comments about how 'cool' his name is as anyone who does'nt know him has never heard of it before.!!!!!!!

My own name, Cindy, is not popular right now, nor is Annette or Doris or Vera or Leona or Lois or Hazel or Charlotte or Joan. If you want unusual, try Sayda or Mayda or Thea or Venetta (the last two are names I gave two of my daughters) or Cinda. For boys, two of my grandsons are named Kyler and Easton. There are lots of names in the Bible that no one uses these days if you want out-of-the-ordinary names. There's also Theo, Everett, Floyd, Lloyd, and Marvin. It shouldn't be too hard to find unusual, yet great names for your children.

I think Shayla is very pretty, but I do know of one...she's a friend of a friend who is about 30 years old and lives in North Carolina...I like "boys" names for girls, like Kevin spelled Kevyn or Kenneth spelled Kennyth. I also love the name Kelis for a girl but would spell it Kelyce (what is it with the "y"s???) I only had boys and I named them good, sturdy traditional names because as a teacher I just think the smarmy-marmy "Keans" etc. are just too fussy for a boy, but if I'd had a girl I would have named her Caslyn...I just love the s-l combination! When you are a teacher you REALLY see the trendy names go through...I once had four Stephanie's in my class!!!!

my name is close to that...its Shayna pronounced  Shay-nuh. i used to hate my name when i was kid but i actually love it now..most people call me shay for short...i always get compliments on it so theres another suggestion :) didnt even think about suggesting my own name hahha.

We went searching the Bible lists of names, and found a man's Hebrew name, Elasah. We changed the spelling to Elaysa for our daughter

(pronounced just as it looks E-LAY-SA).

As far as I know, she is the only one with that name, so it is unique. However, people tend to want to call her Allisa or Alisha until they get the hang of it.

Davonne for a girl... That is my daughter's name. (Davonne Dee) I THOUGHT I had made it up. I started with Devon and my husband did not like that. BUT since his name was Dave.. he liked Davonne.. lol I have seen it a couple times. But not around here. I have a niece her middle name is Laurel. ( not my pick) lol I know of a Loren for a guy and Lauren for a girl... Since ur name is Lorie, thought u might like them.

My sons name is Jerrod named after my father, my husband and my father-in-law. My fathers name was Jerry, husband, Rodney and Rodger, my father-in-law, hence the name Jerrod from their names. My daughter Kaylee is named after my husbands late grandmother and his mother; grandmother: Ruby Lee/ mother: Donna Kay. Hence the name, Kaylee. I like the name Landon or Layton for a boy and Genesis or Kyleigh for a girl.

I used a slight variance of my maiden name for my oldest daughters middle name: Paige Cassondra. My last name was Casson. Thought about using it as a first name but with a last name like Marcantonio, we had to go with short and sweet first names.

When I thought I was having a boy, my choices were Garrett and Graham. Girls were Olivia and Skylar. I have two wonderful girls, our frist one is a combination of me and my husbands name (george and gina) hense the name Georgina. our other daughter is Brooklynn, (don't know where that came from but at the time it was different. Now I notice that it is pretty popular. Hope that helps a little

I thought I had a pretty unique name for my daughter, not too many out there except for a few celebrities or fictional characters. Piper Claire is my 4 year old's name. My husband saw the animated movie "Robots" and liked the name. However, it seems to be popping up more often. In fact, I live in a very small town of about 1000 people and just found out my Piper will have another Piper in her class when she starts school next year! So two in a class of probably 60 kids! Nice. However, I do get compliments on her name constantly from people who have not heard that name before.

Don't know if you'll think it's so great but I do:) We couldn't decide so we ended up giving our little boy 3 middle names. In the long run it ended up making everyone happy. Gunnar Gregor Henry Hill aka G2 H2 O- G(squared) H(squared) O (our last name). Hope you come up with something unique as well. Good luck
