I'm expecting myself and also am looking for unusual and original names!( I really can't stand common everyday names)

I found babycenter.com to be very helpful! They have a good variety of names. Don't forget to check out some baby name books and to even look back on your family tree for the names of your great great grandparents, aunts or uncles...you may find something there that will be really special and will mean alot to you by already having been a family name! Good Luck!! =)

For a girl, I really like the name Jenae (various spellings available eg: Jenai, Janai, J'Nai, etc.).

Boys are harder for me, but Jared is what I named my son... not too common to hear these days, but not an old folks name either.

Mine is unpopular, Joline! I heard a little girl called Hazel this week at the playground and I have not heard that name in almost 30 years as well as Ruby! I don't hear Patrick very often for a boys name. Merrill or Gordan either!

Do an Internet search for most popular baby names, then eliminate those choices. My older son was going to be either Matthew Blaise or Gregory Blaise, but ended up with the name Hal Owen because his due date was Oct 31. My younger was going to be Grace Elaine if female, but as male, he ended up with Ross Allen (see the similarity?) I recommend you don't go too crazy with weird spellings because that can be a challenge for life. Now-a-days, it seems like everyone is doing old-fashioned names. And then, there are a lot of people who are making up names as combinations of other names and such. If you don't feel compelled to name your baby after a family member, go with a name that runs smoothly off the tongue and consider syllable-balance between your last name and the baby's first name. That said, for a girl, I like Abigail and for a boy, I like names like Marcus, Lucas, Nathan. Good Luck with your choice.

Te'a - means gift of God. Pronounced Tayah , we have had fun with the Doctors and school because they usually don't know how to use the accent mark in pronouncing her name and they say "tea?". Lol! She was three and at the store she would get excited thinking that all the tea was named for her. She loves her name.

I have a friend who's father, brother and son are all named Cadren (put whatever twist on spelling you want), it's unique and easy to remember since it's so similar to Caiden. Personally, I'm having the same problem with names. I'm thinking of going common first name, uncommon middle for a boy, ei, Sean Lochlan or Liam Alistair but can't seem to settle on a girl's name that doesn't instantly form an impression in my mind, harsh side effect of being a woman I guess... Trying to win my husband over on Winter Violet, good think I still have 5 months to work on him :)

My kids' names are son-Evan (can be girl'd up as Evyn) and our daughters are Olivia - we call her livee (like "live" with a long e at the end) and Mackenzie - we call her Mack or Kenzie, she likes both. When I was pregnant with her I was going to name the baby Jordan (boy) or Jordyn (girl). Then I "stumbled" on Mackenzie. I LOVE all of their names.
