Potty training can be frustrating! Moms are usually in a bigger hurray than kiddos. Moms are usually the ones trained too, long before the kiddos. There are some developmental reasons some take longer than others. Some say boys are harder than girls, but I did my research and that really is not true. Honestly, the best way to train is take the diaper off and ditch the pull ups. Put the big girl panties, big boy unders or no underwear at all. Now, there will be messes and accidents, so I chose summer since we could be outside. And he trained himself, he pottied off the deck. he pottied as high as a sprinkler, he watered plants. Then we gave rewards for pottying in the potty chair, the toilet was too high and freaked him out that he would fall in.

Night time, due to blatter control, ie development, was different. I used diapers for 4 months even after he was pottied trained. Oh, I tried without, but too many nights I had to strip the entire bed so I figured it wasnt his fault and sure enough, without much work from me he did it!!! It was quite exciting. But even mre excitieng is when they stop calling you to wipe them, LOL! Enjoy every moment, it passes fast!

My daughter is highly independent and likes to learn things on her own rather then me telling her what to do. Anyway, I tried starting working with her and potty training when she was two by buying all of the kids books out there on going potty. We bought the Elmo dvd and even a doll that "poops and potties" in the "toilet" but she was completely not interested. I happened across a copy of "Once Upon a Potty" on vhs at a garage sale and in desperation bought it. My daughter was now a month away from her third birthday and was STILL not willing to give the restroom a chance. http://www.amazon.com/Once-Upon-Potty-Al... I put in this video one afternoon and she asked to watch it over and over and over. I think we watched it for a couple hours (it's not that long) then she asked to bring her doll down http://www.target.com/Little-Mommy-Real-... so she could help her go to the potty. The next morning she woke up and out of no where asked if she could "go potty on the toilet." She DID and has been ever since! No accidents even! I was shocked and will be if this method works on our son too. ;O) *haha* Good luck! Just know that all kids are on their own schedule and like the video says, they will be going to the restroom by highschool graduation and that's what counts. ;O)

With my first two children, now adults I potty trained. With my little guy, I did not. I let things just happen.

He started later than they did, but finished sooner, if that makes sense.

Videos that were really helpful were Elmo, Blues Clues and there were some books. I never suggested he use the bathroom or pushed the issue, but read and watched casually like any other program or story.

Dr. Sears has a great book on using the potty.

If anyone is reading this and has a child with painful bowel movements there are two books that really help. It hurts when I poop and Where's the poop.

This time passes so quickly that as much as you want it done, enjoy every second and remind yourself that everyone eventually figures it out.

Your baby is adorable btw!
