Does your child collect rocks? Do you pull them out of the dryer EVERYDAY?

Everyday my 6 year old son collects rocks. He puts them in his pocket. Everyday I wash the pants (& the rocks). Every night I open the dryer door and pull the rocks out because they are loud. I hate the rocks! I should say I hated the rocks until today... When I pulled out today's rock. I actually looked at this one. It was pretty. It was actually really pretty in a rock kind of way. I then thought of my little guy on the playground taking a minute for himself away from all the teacher's demands, the kids and the noise to just go and find a cool looking rock. Good for him! So, I went in the kitchen and got a jar to start collecting his rocks. I won't tell him I am collecting them because then he will start collecting them for me and that will change which rocks HE likes. One day, when he gets his own office, I will give him the rocks. He can use it as a cool bookend or a neat manly decoration. Until then, I will collect the rocks as long as he does and I will appreciate the loud rocks in my dryer. If you can't beat em, join em. Right?

This made me laugh because I find them in my laundry too... The nice thing about rock collections is that they can be educational too. If your son is still interested in rocks you should check out The World's Most Fascinating Rock Collection. They send your kid a rock and a card with info about the rock in the mail every month. www.fascinatingrocks.com

That's a good idea! My daughter loves the rocks that are outside, they're actually the neighbors rocks (we just put them back) but when we go to the park, she just has to look at every rock, tree branch, and leaf!
