I am looking into purchasing a stroller. I dont want to spend ALOT. I have a very active 2 yr old boy. He will sometimes stay in a stroller. I also have a 3 week old. I am looking for something for both of them. Does anyone have a sit and stand stroller? What are you thoughts about it? Or a side by side? Thanks for all the responses!!

I have a 2.2 year old and a ten month old and live in the city. We use our stroller every day on narrow sidewalks, little stores, escalators, elevators...you name it, we do it! So I needed a double stroller that could handle life, all of it. My family bought for me a Phil and Ted when my second one was born! Wow! Is all I have to say. I love this stroller. It does all I want it to do! It is the size of a single stroller so I have no issues with getting around. And can be a single seater if you want, because the second seat is removable! It is a brillant design. It is a little bit more money than the double strollers, but I have decided after using it with my two, that it is worth it. I love the fact that it does not have to stay a double, which gives me great freedom. Because, what do you do with the double strollers once the older ones grows up? It is a bit heavier than my single stroller, but worth it.... It fits in my car and the wheels are removable, so it goes even smaller. We have done many international travels with this stroller and I have been stopped every where so people could ask about it. You can find the info on-line under phil and ted. Good luck!

I've got a 17 month old and a 4 month old and am getting by right now with the single stroller and baby bjorn. This works really well at first and I'd recommend it because now I'm looking into what double stroller would be best for two larger babies and it's nice not to worry about "will this stroller work well with the infant seat". Another advantage to waiting is that I can put both babies in the strollers to see how they work and feel. For instance, for me the side by side is a no go because my 17 month old daughter has no concept of respecting little brother's space. Obviously there is no perfect stroller. Just when I figured I'd made a decision someone told me that the one in front of the other kind just doesn't work for too long before they grow out of it. So I gave up and went home and made margaritas for my husband and I. Tell me if you find the perfect cheap solution!

I just purchased the joovy ultralight sit and stand stroller. my son is 2 1/2 and still likes to sleep in the stroller so i may have some issues once our new baby arrives (in about a month) because the car seat will attach to the front seat and he'll be left to sit or stand. however, i decided NOT to get a double stroller for the same reasons mentioned... too big and heavy. and trust me do not get a side by side double... you'll have a lot of trouble getting thru doorways! the joovy ultralight is more expensive but will not break your back like some of the other sit n stand models. plus, it is very sturdy. i had a baby trend single stroller that is falling apart so chose not to get that brand for the sit n stand. if need be, i figure my son can nap sitting up in the front seat and i'll cradle the car seat over the back frame and hold onto it... not recommended but i'll play it by ear.  oh and i got my joovy on ebay from an authorized dealer for $240 and free shipping, instead of $270+tax.

The Sit & Stand stroller was the best stroller i ever purchased for my kids.  Your two year old will soon be 3 than 4.....they have a rare facing seat, he can sit on when he gets tired of walking....the sit and stand, a MUST.  You will get much better use out of it, and your son will feel special and big, like he is king!!

The sit and stand is great since it has a seat, and an infant seat attachment.  My older child loves being able to get on and off and, when she's not in it, the seat is great for storage.  The downside is it's long and heavy.  You could use the single stroller and a sling or baby bjorn until your littlest is too big.  You may want to consider a double umbrella stroller.  They fold up pretty compact and most recline for smaller babies.

www.Craigslist.org is a great place to find 2nd hand strollers for a good price.  Good luck!

I think that a double stroller would be great because if your 2 yr old wants to sleep he can while your out for long periods of time. Also a sit and stand would be good also.

I had the sit and stand stroller and it was great for hauling them both around for long periods of time. But my complaint is that it was so big I couldn't leave it in the trunk all the time like I could an umbrella stroller, I ended up getting rid of it. :( But I had one a couple yrs ago maybe they have gotten smaller. If you have a car try to measure the width and or length of it before purchasing to make sure you will not have a hard time fitting it in. With mine I couldn't even buy a decent amount of groceries. :(  it was great during long trips in the mall though, so way out the pros and cons before you spend that kind of money.

Hope this helped.

I've always wanted a sit and stand but already had a hand me down double and my single from my first son. My kids are 2.4yrs apart. I wish I would have bought the sit and stand. My son still needs to ride sometimes and will sit on the front of the regular stroller. The double is way too cumbersome though! Maybe they make them better now, but the one I had was way too heavy and hard to control. You may want to check out reviews on www.lilaguide.com/reviews and click on strollers or type in the stroller you are looking at to see what other parents think it.

The sit and stand strollers are amazing! I would definately recommend that route! You've got another year or so of your two year old straggler if you try to make him walk. My 4 year old sometimes still sits on it! Its very versitile and convenient!
