My son is 16 months old and I am expecting a baby girl at the end of this month. I have the Chicco Cortina Travel system for my son and we have gotten a lot of use out of it. I love that the carseat attachs to the stroller and it is very lightweight and user-friendly. I plan to use the carseat and base for my daughter. Does anyone know if Chicco makes a double stroller that will allow the carseat to attach to it? I haven't found anything so far. Or do you know of any other double strollers that will accept a carseat attachment of another brand. Thanks!

I'm in the same situation, my son will be 2 June 29 and I'm due with my second on May 21, so almost 2 years apart, I didn't really want to buy a double stroller, but I really think I need to. I went to the store and looked at the sit and stand, I put my son on the seat and relized that if we go to the zoo or any day trips somewhere what happens when he gets tired and want to lie back? There is nothing there for him to lean on, I tryed the standing position and even though he does love to stand, run around etc.. he didn't feel comfortable standing there and cryed. So I really don't think the sit and stand is the best option for me, I did like the idea of it and the fact that its not as big and heavy as a double but having two seats that recline is very important as well as fitting a car seat to. So I will most likely get one of the Graco doubles, not sure which one yet still have to go and see them in person and see how they fold and how easy they are to manover. I will not get the side by side double sure they are good for outside and parks but when you go into the mall and stores they barely even give you enough room for a single stroller, I feel bad for people in wheel chairs. I hope this helps give you some stuff to think about in your search for the perfect double as I'm still searching myself. Good luck and congrats on the new baby :)

I have a sit and stand stroller that is friendly with other brands of car seats...but I wouldn't really recommend it for you!  My kids are right at two years apart and I thought it would be just perfect as my older on liked to stand also.  It wasn't.  It took until about 2.5 before it was really usable with the older one...the straps just aren't secure enough for the older child to keep them in place....

Jennifer-thanks for your input. I will definitely check out the Graco duoglider. I have also looked at the sit and stand variety and that might be a real possibility since my son loves to stand up now that he is mobile.

Kristin-I have looked at the OneStep Ahead stroller and really like it too. I almost purchased it, but the list of carseats that are compatible did not have the chicco carseat listed, so I hesitated. I will have to call customer service and ask.

Thanks ladies for your advice!

I LOVE my double stroller. I bought it through One Step Ahead. You can order it from their website. It will hold just about any car seat in the front with a regular seat behind it. As my son got older and didn't want to "sit" in the stroller anymore we were able to remove the back seat and it converted to a sit and stand with a jump seat (with a buckle). When you no longer need the carseat attachment the front area turns into a regular seat. I did a lot of research because I wanted a stroller that would work easily with my existing carseat as well as last me the longest amount of time with out costing me a fortune. With the sit and stand option I will be able to use it for years.

I think Graco is friendly with their car seat attatchments.  My twins used the Graco Duoglider (plus the three kids I had before them).  I recommend that or a sit and stand stroller.  Your older one might be better off just riding when he wants vs. always having to sit.  We also used the Jeep side by side fold up when the twins learned to sit up.  It reclines for sleeping and is really light weight.  Good luck!
