As long as she is drinking milk she will be fine. Some kids just take longer. My daughter hated cups but I gradually weened her off bottles and breast. Then as it got closer to her birthday I would give her a countdown that she would understand that on her first birthday no more cups. Then on her first birthday, all bottles went in the trash and she just had cups. Kids are smart, so she knew that when it was her birthday that it was only going to be cups. When it gets closer, say a few weeks, buy a few and let her choose which one she wants. Sh will appreciate being able to choose. Some will say wait she is only one but they are smarter than some people give them credit for.

its suggested you shouldnt put juice in bottles as it causes teeth decay and sum babies get to attatched to the bottle

I had the same issue with my son. I think he was 13 months before he would finally drink juice out of a sippy cup. Munchkin has these cups that are tall and skinny and have a top very much like a nipple, and those are finally what got him drinking juice more. I gave him juice in a bottle first though so he would get used to the taste.

you could just try putting water in your babies bottle but if she is drinking formula that should be enough.

If she does drink milk from a cup she may just not like the water/juice. My son would not drink either at first, cup/bottle didn't matter he didn't want juice or water. Now he drinks about 4 oz of juice a day, but no straight water, so I mix a bit of water in with a juice to "trick" him and he drinks it just fine. It did take some time for him to get used to the new flavors though so don't fret too much. As long as she's getting the milk she will be fine, and if she needs to drink more she will let you know some how

well if it worries you that much....just put the water/juice in the bottle so that way you know shes getting what she needs! ive been giving my daughter water since she was 2 months! they need the water/juice!

i agree what about a bottle? and id leave a bottle on the floor all day so she has access to it if she gets thirsty thats what we do and we find she lies there drinking it for ages

Have you already tried offering her milk in a cup? It might help her get used to the cup and be more willing to take other drinks from it. She will be ok on her regular milk though. If you are brestfeeding this will adapt to any climate. If formula feeding/cow milk or putting Breastmilk in a cup/bottle it wont hurt to water it down. (Providing you are offering it as an extra drink and not as a feed) Don't water a feed down, only do this to an additional drink offered for hydration purposes.

maybe just try a normal cup (filled with just a little lol) or a straw-sippy cup. my son never did the whole normal sippy cup thing and those worked for him.

i started my daughter of by giving her drinks from our cups so she could see that if we drink it she can drink it now she drinks out of her own cup which has a lid incase of travling she only has milk at nights now

Tamara is right. If she is eating right(milk) then she won't dehydrate. If you "want" her to try different fluids try giving her sips of "your" ice water from the straw...by capping the end with your finger and placing it in her mouth to the side. My son(8 months) is interested in anything that I am drinking and he likes it when I do this. I also give him a small amount of "room temp" water in his bottle...if it is to cold he won't drink it. My son doesn't care for juice much either. Hope my suggestions help. Good luck! ~Shannon

my youngest wouldn't drink from a cup then one day I got tired of fixing a lot of bottles so I put some Juice in cup and gave it to him and he took it. Then about three weeks later he took hisself of the bottle completely no fussing a night for it but now he is stuck on a pacifer
