My daughter is 10 1/2 months old and has dry skin on her legs. She doesn't get a bath everyday but it's winter time so it's really dry, what do you moms suggest using? Should we just put baby lotion on or is there something better?

I finally got fed up with my son's scaly legs and his arms and back were starting to get really dry, too. I plunked him down naked on my bed and slathered him with the BodyShop body butter for extra-dry skin. I use it for myself, but it really worked on him! I think I'll do it again soon.

hempz cream is really nice and urea 20 works best of the best. lubriderm also is a nice alternative to the hempz and cortisone i try to avoid cause it thins the skin but if needed i use it. best wishes

hello allison overton. i have excema i currently after more than a decade have found three creams i like a steroid which i have grounds against but if needed it's there and am currently working with nutrition to help. i am green lifestyle friendly and wondering what you've found or discovered/come across. thanks best wishes

Emu oil, you can get it at any healthfood store, it works for my son who has terrible exima, I tried this and it has stayed away, plus it doesnt burn thier little legs

i used to use vitamin e cream on my son. it was suggested by the nurses he was in a neonatal unit and oxygen is very drying.

Okay first off baby oil is made up of mineral oil which is car oil refined 7 times.
I was introduced to Arbonne ABC Baby Care line, it's a botanical based skin line that has no chemicals or mineral oil or frangrances, no dyes in it.
The reason some babies react more strongly with with dry skin, is because of the fragrances and dyes in soaps, lotions,shampoos, laundry detergents. Anything that you rub on the skin gets absorbed into our bodies. So if you are rubbing baby oil all over your body, the mineral oil ingredient won't allow your skin to breath, it's a barrier that doesn't allow your skin to expel toxins or breath in oxygen.
This brand is also great for anyone with eczema, sensitive skin, psoriasis. My daughters are using it and they have no signs of dry skin or eczema anymore. I've got tons of info on this if you're interested. Good luck.

I love Gold Bond ultimate healing. It isn't a baby lotion, but it always worked great for my sons who have always had terrible dry skin. It even worked for me when I worked in a nursing home and had to wash my hands 50+ times a shift.

Rub baby oil all over your child before taking them out of the tub works well for my granddaughter.

my pedi recommended cortizone cream. my 6 month old has the same problem on her back and arms. it seems to be working well.
