Try moving your furniture or going for a brisk walk. But if you can avoid it, I would wait to go to the hospital until your labor pains are pretty intense. My water broke so I had to go in and then once I got to the hospital they made me stay in the bed - and that's not the best way to labor. You really want to be able to move around if you can.

Be patient, babies come when its their time. Rush them and you can run into complications. I know, all my babies where 21 days overdue and when the doctor tried to rush my last one, I ended up having an emergency c-section. Nature has a way of taking care of everything.

Oh well i tried alot of things and nothing helped! So just relax and enjoy this time. As soon as the baby comes out you are going to want her to go back in so you can sleep.lol I was induced but i wish i would have waited a lil longer so i could have done it naturally.

Relax, and walk. or simply doing house work will sometimes help. Squatting while sweeping up helped me. just make sure someone is there with you so you don't fall in the floor. Whatever you do DON'T drink Castor Oil. My aunt did that and her baby slipped past the birth canal and almost broke her back during the pushing. I know some have used it but everyone I know have had longer, worse labors for it. Another friend used it and came through her labor and delivery and had 2 black eyes and major facial bruising because her labor was so intense. Relax and enjoy the last few weeks/days of your pregnancy. once that baby gets here it will consume all of your time and you are going to need your rest. Best Wishes Hun!!

I used castor oil with my daughter. Took 2 tablespoons with a glass of OJ the night before with dinner. And 1am on my due date I went into labor. Dont get me wrong, it wasnt that great of a way to go into labor, as it gives you the "runs" to the point it almost throws you into labor. But it did work. But Im sure everyone is different! Good luck!

SEX! My doctor told me that sex induces labor! I thought I was gonna die when I herd that come from a doctor! My doctor said that there is a vitamin in the males sperm that thins out your cervix! And it will bring on labor! And besides, you get to have some fun while doing it! And just think of the 6 weeks you can't have sex after the baby comes! Then you'll want to have sex even more now! I had sex with in hours of my doctor telling me that and I had my son that very same night! When I got to the hospital all my doctor said was' You had sex huh??" Try it!

you can also ask your doc to strip your cervix not really comfortable for most woman but it worked for me with first baby within 4 hours I was in labor.

your baby will come when ready... I was 2 weeks overdue my date...but there is nothing to worry about once you are overdue you will get monitored on a more regular basis and you may have some simple stress test done which is awesome I thought because I got to see my little one on the ultrasound and her heartbeat every two days. Hang in there that's all I can tell you...and get all the R&R while you still can. =)

Have sex! it worked for me!... i was 8 days over my EDA, but the key is make sure you get an orgasm... the gel they sometimes put around the vagina to get you started has the same sort of hormones as what is in the sperm.... walking is also good... but really when the baby is ready it will come! good luck

My dr's have always told me that you take the last day of your menstrual cycle date and add 7 days and then subtract exactly 3 months from that date and you'll have a generalized ranged....but it can vary...depnding on your last day and if you had a light menstrual, etc.

SEX, SEX, SEX ...of course, without hurting you or the baby, the spermies have the same thing as what is used to induce labor. Try just relaxing afterwards to let the spermies do what they need to do. Then walk, walk, and walk somemore, it helps to move the baby further down. When you think you are done walking, walk somemore.

Good luck - may you be Blessed with an easy delivery - and CONGRATULATIONS!!!

raspberry leaf tea worked for me. i had 3 cups a day and it help to thin out my membranes. it takes a couple of days but it should help. if your gonna try pinapple then make sure its fresh. i was told that in order for it to help you pretty much have to eat the whole thing. just be patient and get lots of rest. soon enough you will be sleep deprived. theres no need to rush it lol good luck!!

Have sex with your partner. There is a hormone in his sperm that induces labour. It's not real comfortable but it works. Have fun.

Well with my first he was 4 weeks early but my second. I got her moving by having sex. It is really not a myth. The doctor said it has something to do with a type of chemical in the sperm taht can cause the cervix to thin out. Worked for me and my daughter was born 4 hours later.

Sex works! My husband & I had sex during my 36th week and my water broke the next morning! Thankfully everything was fine with the baby, I didn't think it would happen but apparently it only takes one time! Labor wasn't bad at all either, at least for me. I've also heard walking & stretching help. I remember what it felt like for my body to be so tired & so incredibly ready! Good luck!

oh not much you can really do haha but some ppl say a few things work but they dont always with my son i tired everything and i ended up getting induced haha but sex, spicey foods, stimulate your breast (warm up a washrag or something and place on your breast for a few min at a time) or massage your nipples, um walking everyone says that one, swinging(helps the baby drop lower into the pelvous), i think swimming might even help, um i think if you relax and dont think about it that can help...are you having a boy or a girl boys tend to be a little more stouborn haha my daughter who was my first took 10 min for the whole thing all of it what so ever and my son my 2nd born was induced and took 15.5 hours and was a pain to get out haha congrats i hope something works for you and you pop out your little baby soon

Quoting Tamara:

Relax! DO NOT get induced. It's the fastest route to an unneeded c-section. Walk, have sex, relax, take a nice bath and remember your LO will come in his/her own time. I know it's only an anecdote but I came into the world 18 days after my mom's EDD and I'm just fine. :)

i agree! my 1st baby born 14days past my "due date" and my 2nd 10days past my "due date". no medical inductions....natural spontaneous labours. the "due date" doesn't mean the baby should be born by that date......its just an approximate. full term is considered any where from 37 to 42 weeks.....so don't think about yourself as being "overdue", its not helpful. just relax and wait for your baby.   :)

First and foremost you must relax. You can try walking as sometimes this can promote labor. Sex if you and your husband are up for it (no pun intended) can promote labour. There is also a spoonful of castor oil although I don't know if that is myth or reality. But I think your best bet is to relax and get some rest because you will need it to get through labour and delivery. Good luck.
