Has anyone tried this? Did you have success?

I have tried it with4 of my children before my newest babe. With the others I had some success for about six months or so. Then I would get distracted or maybe it was lazy...

With my newest LO she came potty trained. She would cry until we took her diaper off and then she would pee. So we started taking her to the potty. She has never wet at night. When she was very little she would squirm and kick at night until I dragged my tired body out of bed and took her to the potty, then she would go right back to sleep.

Now at nearly nine months she usually holds it all night and will wet her diaper during the day (if she has one on, we let her go bare at home) if I forget to take her. I hope that when she can walk and talk that she will be able to tell me when she needs to go.

I've never heard of that program before.  And how lucky you are to have such a good girl!!! OMG I wish!  My son is just starting to tell me when he has made a pee pee or a poo poo in his diaper and he's 17 months old!

I used it from bith with both of my children. We were pretty laissez-faire with it. They hated to pee in diapers and it was something I caught onto at birth. Like your little one they really got the hang of it at around 8-10 mos. Dylan was potty signaling at about 10 mos. She could walk though. Ava once crawled to the potty at nine months and cried til her daddy put her on, but she didn't signal that she had to go regularly til about 14 months. My kids were totally done with diapers at 16 and 18-19 months respectively.

Quoting Teyaka:

Try teaching her now. I  understand she is little but soon she will catch onto small repeatative words like "ma ma" and "da da." So when you do have to change her diaper in the daytime, say "pee pee" or something like that. Start her early on assoicating that word with going to the bathroom. It may or may not work. But it's worth a shot and great as a way to teach her to communicate.

I should have mentioned that we do use word association.  She goes 'on command'.  She has started to 'tell' me when she doesn't need to go.  If I take her to the toilet and she doesn't need to go she will cross her legs and hold them straight.
