My daughter seems to be very emotional. if i ask her to do something she will cry and have a hissy fit. a simple task like having a shower turns her into a whining, crying, angry, argumentative child. it is driving me nuts, she is nearly 8 and i have tried everyting with her.

This is typical age that most children hate to take baths. Bathing every day is not necessary in the winter when skin is very dry and kids don't sweat so you can cut down on bathing to every other day. Her hormones have not kicked in so she will not have the adult smells that will come later. Just remember you are the boss and if she wants to keep her priviledges she needs to behave in the manner that you want her to behave. period.

My son doesn't like to take baths sometimes, but if I offer him a snack, he'll put it on the edge of the bathtub while he takes his bath, I don't mind it, as long as he takes a bath, and then after awhile of doing that, he'll just take a bath when it's time to. Good luck, and I hope this helps.

My youngest is like that sometimes. She is 6 and 1/2, but on occasion I feel like she is still 2. I have found that she is at her worst when she is hungry or if she is tired. It is not that she doesn't get enough sleep(they go to bed at 7 and get up at 6)but she just seems to not be able to handle it sometimes. When she gets like that I usually sit her down and give her a little snack and then try again. I also make sure that I tell her a set time that I want her to be in the shower by, so that she knows when I will expect her to do what ever I asked of her and that when that time comes there will be no more arguing.
