for over two years now my life has been a living hell, my son was delayed in eating, walking and talking and every day was made to feel like it was my fault. i changed nursery's and they said he was on the autism spectrum so along with all the other professionals involved already an educational psychologist got involved and says because he will socialise he isn't autistic but is hyperlexic, i thought that would be the end of it but no, saw his paedeatrician last thursday and now she wants to do chromosome tests for fragile x because of his delays and behaviour, im so mentally exhausted and want to say enough and to leave us both alone but i cant. anyway sorry i just needed to have a rant about it and write it down to get it off my chest :)

thankyou for your comments, and no i dont have many friends, i suffer from anxiety and paranoia so dont go out much anymore unless i have to x

YOU have done nothing wrong. The only one who can accurately diagnose (from my limited understanding) autism or similar is a developmental child psychologist.... or something like that. His nursery school or regular ped is, most likely, not qualified enough to make that determination.

Keep up with the testing. I don't doubt that it is frustrating and exhausting, but putting a name to his issue/issues could really help you in getting the right services to help him reach his full potential.

Do you have a good support system of family/friends that can help you out and get you a break? I hope so!! Hang in there.

Keep your spirits up. Just remember once all these tests are finished, you will then have more answers. I have no idea if it will answer all the questions but at least you will have an answer.
