I'm being induced on Monday. This is my first baby. Should I get an enema? Does it hurt? Is it extremely uncomfortable?

i never had an enema i was a little scared tho as people told me about the whole pooping in delivery thing. i never did but because both areas are so close it really felt like i was. i kept asking the nurse! she said no nothing else your fine lol. im hoping nothing happens with the next baby either. its one thing i actually was really worried about lol

I was induced because I had a uterine infection. I never had an enema, but I don't think anything the doctor does will hurt. I know from my experience being induced forced the labor pains on super fast and rapid. Just listen to whatever your doctor says, I was very stubborn and refused a lot, but in the long run the doctor was right, and things were better

An epidural makes the experience ALOT more comfortable. I have 8 kids only had epidural with last one, made her birth alot better for me.

Don't worry...they don't usually use enemas anymore. You'll be just fine - good luck!

It is a matter of personal choice but quite honestly really not needed. If you do go on the table the nurses and doctors are so used to it they won't blink an eye. They'll clean you up and say good pushing, keep it up.

induction was terrable if i had it to do over i wouldnt allow it. I wouldnt get an enema its really not nesassary. Many people poop during delivery, but you will never know it they nurses cover it up and get rid of it and you never notice, if you push with your right muscles it doesnt usually happen, but so many people say to push like your pooping really you poop with different muscles than you use to deliver a baby.

I got an enema with my daughter. It was uncomfy to hold in...but not painful at all. I do think it helped me dialate further...and it kept me from having any 'opps' during delivery. I wanted my husband to see a baby and nothing else come out!
As far as induction I think it depends on how ready your body is. They started me with an IV of pitocin and 2 1/2 hours later she was born. I have heard the gel rarely works. I did not have any pain medication but was only in hard labor for 45 minutes or so. I think you feel better after without pain meds but it is a very personal decision.
Best of Luck!

bein induced does not hurt! I was induced with my first pregnancy! Do u mean an epideral! I never felt that either! But as soon as I got it I went into labour so it kicked in afterwards! Word of advice dont scream or yell! Focus on your breathing and that only and you will be completely fine! Good Luck and Congratulations!
