I have mine on similac soy... he is a happy baby... he was on gentle ease just for well... 1 oz. Needless 2 say proojectile out the mouth and nose was the outcome of that. Dr said babies have a hard time digesting dairy, hints as 2 why I had a rough time w breast millk w my son I was drinking milk and eating dairy not knowing any difference and it was hurting his belly cuz he could digest cow milk... so my question still today is y would they tell u to stop dairy if u plan to continue breast feeding but put them on a dairy based formula... so in short similac soy is great for mine, and now they want to put him on pro sobee which is soy from enfamil. Not to sure that's how I found this site trying to do some research before I find out it just tears his stomach up and makes him miserable again!

My three sons were on soy. They started them on Prosobee (the enfamil soy) in the hospital. Our ped. said it was fine to use the generic because it is basically all the same thing. The generic says on the can "compare to Enfamil Prosobee or Similac Isomil" so if it can replace either then there must not be much difference between the Similac or Enfamil.

i just found out that my son was allergic to cow milk protien i my sons dr said that goats milk works alot better then putting them on soy because soy is so processed. He gave me a vitamin mixture and some vitamin d to mix into the goats milk to make sure it is fortified and my son is doing so much better now. I dunno try it might work for you too.

I've had a lot of different problems with formula, but I am fortifying my breast milk with formula because of underlying heart problems. I started with similac, and then similac soy, both only one scoop to three onces of breastmilk. It constipated him for days. Once I switched to enfimil lipil, it was great! Now we use enfimil AR so he doesn't have acid reflux anymore. I guess it depends on what happens when you are using the formula?

i really dont think there is much of a difference at all besides the name. my daughters doctor told me there wasnt a differeence between formulas. they all have the same stuff in them but just different names and different costs.

My son was on the Similac Soy because he was so gassy on regular formula. He was much better after I switched to the soy. Now that I am on WIC they only cover the Enfamil Soy so I have had to switch him. I did that yesterday and so far no difference. He does also breastfeed but I am not producing enough milk so I have to do both. I really don't think there is much of a difference.
