Hi everyone! My name is Ashley Wright. I am not a doctor, a psychologist or a writer. I am an average first time mom to two beautiful thriving babies...who happened to arrive 14 weeks early. I believe I survived as a NICU mom and am now able to reflect back on the NICU experience as a positive and even special part of our family story because of a set of standards I chose to live by. I wrote this while in the NICU and a few weeks following as a therapeutic activity and though I would share on the off chance it would help other families out there. What a life changing experience this has been.

Thanks Scharlene! They are doing great. They have been home for a month now and continue to grow and thrive! I couldn't be more blessed!

I have not had a preemie or had a baby in NICU but your information is amazing!! I am pregnant with my 3rd baby, I am over 36. I can only hope that I never have to experience such a situation but I can say, your words are very enlightening. I am so very happy for you and your family. That everything did turn out to the good and that "eventually did come, someday" for each one of you.

Take care and love those little babies (as I know you do and will). They grow SOOOO fast. I cannot believe my oldest is almost 14 already and my youngest is already 21 months. ;)

Hi You could say it any better, I also had 3 premature in NICU , And I use to always love the kanagroo cuddle and all the nurses were lovely how they looked after these fragile little babies. How is jack and emry going.
