Everyone has an opinion!!

What happened to being open-minded about others opinions?? Especially when it comes to being a mother... there's not just ONE way to do things... it seems like i'm being pressured a lot to do things the way other people do them and being put down if I do it differently!! I haven't hurt my children in any way... theyre both very happy and healthy. I just needed to vent... Do things YOUR way and i'll do them MINE!!! Does anyone else feel the same way??

I think you're right Erinn. I think people can put their opinions across in a much more polite way than they do sometimes. There is no 'right' way to bring up a child as every family is different. I think there is a right way to post an opinion tho, and that is in a polite and respectful manner than doesn't imply that anyone is any 'less' of a mother or that they are 'ignorant'.
I welcome opinions on things, i just think it's about how you present those opinions that causes the problems!!
Keep doing things your way, you'll be fine! :)

I agree with you completely! I have 6 kids and not the same thing works for all of them so do what you think is right. Opinions are just that, opinions. That does not make them right!

I think it depends on how you phrase your questions...sometimes people feel compelled to point out what they assume is new information to you, or something. I don't think they mean to tell you you are a bad mom, they just want to be informative.

Of course, there are moms who think they are better. In that case, well, this is an internet forum and everyone does have an opinion. So if there's something you don't to discuss as far as your choices, don't talk about it here. Because you might hear something you don't like! Of course you're always welcome to respond with your own opinion too.

I am totally with you on this... It seems people think I'm a total spaz and they don't think I am capable of being a mother because apparently I don't do things the right way... How I do things work for me and my son... so what's the problem... I'm not hurting my baby... he is very happy....

I say, Erinn, do things your way... I think you are doing a great job...

Have a nice day...
