If you think THAT is ew, wait until you shove an 8lb child out of your 10 cm vagina.

Quoting Abbie:

Its normal. Go to Target and go to the breastfeeding section, you can buy throw away or wash and reuse breast pads. That way you don't need to worry about leaking through, plus you'll need them probably after the baby is here. check with your doctor though, some don't recommend to pump before baby....not sure why. My friends doc said not too, I never made enough milk EVER to worry about it. LOL

Nipple stimulation can cause the body to release oxytocin, which is the hormone responsible for labor.  NOT a good idea...in fact, quite dangerous to the baby, especially pre-term.  It releases varying degrees of the hormone, and can inadvertently cause a long contraction.  Babies essentially 'hold their breath"  with a contraction...the blood flow from you to the baby is compressed with a contraction...so a prolonged contraction is stressful, and could be harmful to the baby.

Normal. Welcome to motherhood. Wear breast pads in your bra. You'll find them in the baby section near the breast pumps.

Yes, it is completely normal and a good sign that your body can produce colostrum, which is what the baby eats during the first few days of life. It is nutrient-rich and filled with antibodies that are important for a baby's immune system. A baby's stomach is tiny when born, so he/she doesn't eat a whole lot at each setting. Your regular milk should come in around days 3 to 5. PLEASE don't try to stimulate your nipples just to get rid of the colostrum and have a full milk supply when your baby is born. Babies need this colostrum!! It's so important to their immune system.

It didn't happen to me but my cousin started leaking at 14 weeks. She started pumping & freezing before her daughter was even born. Also, it could just be an occasional leak from stimulation.

It's called Colostrum!

Totally normal. By stimulating your nipples, you promote the Colostrum to come in. I started doing this around 25weeks, and had a fantastic milk supply once bub was born... infact, I could have fed a whole troop of babes! LOL

Yes, for some it is. I personally didn't have leaky nipples until after my babies were born, but some do.

What isn't normal is saying "ew" about it. Its perfectly natural.
