It's possible. It's ineffective if you're taking ABs, sick, stressed, drinking alcohol...

Faint lines still mean you're pregnant.

I would say to get in to the doc. I was 15weeks and all i had was a very faint line. Not fully monthly's but that was normal for me.

I work in a obgyn office that is way too early to see anything.....I know your anxious, but theres just no point. We usually bring people it around 8 weeks OR we bring people in the are very unsure of their LMP. With the people with a very unsure LMP it scares them because you may not see anything and then they have to come back multiple times for more trans vag ultrasounds. I would wait it out if I were you.

Im only 4 weeks and 4 days pregnant... so they said that Im a little too early still.. =( But I know a lot of people that have had ultrasound done this early.. I just wanted to know if the baby is okay. But we will see since my Doctor wasnt in yesterday I will get a call about what to do today and hopefully I can get an ultrasound done =) Cross your fingers!

If there is a faint line on a pregnancy test then you are definitely pregnant so now you need to decide what you are going to do. The baby will not be affected by the drugs but you may experience a bleed induced by stopping the pill. Ask for an early pregnancy scan to check that the egg is healthy and the right size for the weeks. I had scans from 5 weeks as I had had problems in the past. From 6 weeks a heart beat can be seen. So I got my first schedule doctors appt for the year. they wont see me until feb 1st so im a little further along. I didnt need a blood test done since all 5 test came out positive. So yeah

I actually had the IUD inserted after my 3rd child was born. I chose to have the IUD without the hormones. The first 3 months were uncomfortable, but it's been almost 3 years and I love it! I would really have your IUD checked out Courtney because it should not be painful after having it in that long. You could have serious issues, like a tear in your uterus, which causes pain and bleeding. You might also consider changing your gyno.
As for the Nuva ring, my husband's friend began using it after her 2nd child was born and she died 8 months later from a blood clot. She just collapsed one day in front of her husband and children. Very sad! I would stay away from it. I know everything has side affects, but I just don't trust the Nuva ring!

I've heard that taking any birth control when possibly pregnant is bad. With mine, I also had a faint line, then a week later...that sucker was BOLD> :) could just be newly pregnant so the levels aren't quite there.

It doesn't matter how faint the lines are. There just may not be enough HCG in your urine right now because it is early into the pregnancy. It is what it is. Definitely schedule an appointment with your doctor so you can get the proper care you need. Good Luck!

about the tying ur tubes. Shes right you should look into that. There isn't rle any stipulation on when to do it. Some doctors just want to make sure ur are sure u want it. But even a Tublualectomy isnt' fool proof either. After about 5 yrs you can get pregnant still w/ ur tubes tied or even GONE... The egg can naturally find its way to the uterus and get fertialized. My mother in law has two other children to prove it . As well as my grandmother. :) About the IUD ... I have the mirena. Its a pain. Lots of conplications w/ them as well. MANY people have still ended up pregnant with the IUD and it can cause birth defects and complications with the pregnancy if you end up pregnant ( as in miscarrage and etc) I am planning on getting mine out.
I have found out that an IUD acutally CAUSES you to miscarry while having it when workin properly.
Even if u fertialize an egg and it emplants it makes ur uterus not allow the baby to survive from lac of nutrients and (uterine wall tissues that feed the baby from like ur pd that sheds it and is what the blding is) bld nutrients. They say you wont get pds with it but i have had issues w/that as well. I bld 2 months straight after getting it( last dec) and have had a regular pd from June 09 till now. I also have some blding after sex sometimes and it cause discomfirt as well at times. My problem is i don't hve insurance so untill i start my new job i have to deal with having it.. faint lines are still lines... it's just really early on! get to the doctor asap so you're not continuing to take birth control with a baby on the inside! congratulations, and good luck!

it shouldn't hurt ur baby. Don't worry. This happens to several women. The bill isn't fool proof anyhow. It is only a 1 out of 100 chance of getting pregnant if you take it correctly for over a month. From what you have said you have messed them up several times. It can affect the effectiveness of the pill. The chemicals in the medication shouldn't harm ur child. It is more likely that you conceived when you were messing your pills up but there is still a chance you got pregnant while even on the pill if no other contraceptive was used. NOTHING is 100% effective .
You could either wait another week and take another round of tests because you will have more of the pregnancy hormone in ur urine. It may also be faint due tothe time that you are taking the tests. They advise you to take a test first thing in the morning with ur first urination. This is because in ur urine the pregnancy hormone will build up in a larger consentration of it in ur urine over night. SO GOOD LUCK! :)

We are thinking about have my tubes tied but the nurse at our family doctor told me that I wont be able to do it because I have to have 2 or more kids and my husbands consent.

I would double-check on that one. It's your body, and you should be able to have your tubes tied if you want. You'll probably have to jump through a lot of hoops and sign a lot of forms, but if you genuinely want this done, then that is your right to do so.

I got pregnant with my daughter when I was on birth control (even though I took it PERFECTLY) and she's a healthy happy toddler! Other than my daughter being bigger than the doctor thought I had no complications with her birth or pregnancy. I didn't find out I was pregnant until I was 8 weeks along so I took the pill for 8 weeks into my pregnancy without realizing... I got a booklet from the doctor that said even if the pill is taken perfectly your chances of getting pregnant are about 97% NOT 99.9% like they say... GOOD LUCK!

You dont have to worry about birth control for another 9 months, you are pregnant. Being that flacky on birth control pills will get you pregnant, didnt your doctor explain to you that you can get pregnant, if you arent taking your pills on time and consistantly? You havent been protected at all from pregnancy for 3 months now.

The lines can be faint if it is very early in the pregnancy, before 5 or 6 weeks, as the hormone levels are low.
Even my tests with the doctor were faint so I had to wait a few weeks & when he re-tested the result was much clearer.
I would definately get a test with your doctor but if you can't get an appointment straight away then your local pharmacist can advise you on whether it is safe to keep taking your pill if you could be pregnant.

I was on the IUD after I gave birth to my daughter. We didnt want anymore kids for a while. But the whole time it was in it hurt like hell. Everytime my husband and I make love it was painful. So after 2 years of it being in there we decided to have it taken out.

Then tried the Nuva ring and had an allergic reaction to it.
So we switched to the pills.
We are thinking about have my tubes tied but the nurse at our family doctor told me that I wont be able to do it because I have to have 2 or more kids and my husbands consent. Since he didnt want me to get it done we couldnt do that.

So Im not sure what other form of birth control we are going to look into other than try to not have sex before I ovulate.

Hard to say. My guess is that if you conceived, you did it prior to the switch to 3pm. There are some women who can forget a pill or take it late and nothing will happen. There are other women who could be an hour late taking their pill, and they'll conceive, that's how easily they get pregnant. Either way, you need to find out if you really are pregnant and then figure things out from there. But if you are, then after this pregnancy, I would ask my doctor about an IUD.

I didnt really explain it well. The first month I took it I kept forgetting to take it on time or even take it at all. Now my time I take these was 10pm at night. The 2nd month I took them and sometimes forget to take them at 10. We had a busy month on November so we would be home later than I thought to take my pills.. While on the placebo pills I thought it wouldnt hurt to just change the time I take the pills to 3pm instead of 10pm. I remember when to take the pills at 3 always.

Im not sure if this makes a difference or not.

The pill is 99% effective IF it's taken consistently. You've only been on the pill a few months now, and you've only been taking it consistently and correctly for the past month, so it really hasn't had much of a chance to "kick in". If you're pregnant, conception could have happened prior to when you started taking the pill correctly, when you were still kind of all over the place with it.



As far as I'm aware, the pills will not hurt the baby, but your doctor will be able to reassure you on this matter.
