Hi, just curious about other mommys' favorite products for babies & children, for the home or for whatever. It's always nice getting the scoop from other moms.

Today my favorite product is the Eureka 4-in-1 lightweight vacuum, I got at Wal Mart yesterday. It cost about $20. I needed something that would help me combat the tumbleweeds of pet hair that seem to form this time of year, and to help with the various messes my kids make. I figured for 20 bucks I'd give this a try and I'm glad I did. It has saved a lot of time today already cleaning all my wood and tile flooring and picks up a lot more than I do with the broom and dustpan. A bonus is it's so light that my 4 yr old can use it with no problem, and he happens to think vacuuming is cool so I'm letting him have at it! It has an attatchment that makes vacuuming the upholstry easy too and I also used it to vacuum the stairs.

Right now I'm on a hunt to find an eco friendly laundry detergent that actually works well and helps get out stains. Anyone have suggestions?

I also bought a "little" vacuum cleaner...my full size one is so heavy and noisy that I would rarely vacuum at all...now I leave my little one plugged in in the corner of my living room and it's super quick to do a pass over the rug at night.

My favorite thing right now is my storage tote! My son is just starting to pull himself up on things and it is the perfect size for him. He gets really excited about sitting in it and practicing pull-ups! Plus I can just keep a hand or foot on the side of it to make it more sturdy...instant entertainment! haha! And if he lets go- he just sort of bounces of the sides on his way down so he doesn't bang his head or face.

I loved the waterproof pads they sell in 2' x 3' sheets. My kids always wet their cribs as babies. I put them underneath them and then when they wet themselves I didn't have to change their beds in the middle of the night, just their outfits. Now my daughter just pottytrained and I started using them again in case she has an accident at night.

Thanks Heather, I'll give it a try. I've tried a few ecofriendly detergents already, they haven't done so well on normal kid mess type stains though.

Brandy thanks! That helps, I live in a smaller town where there aren't many outlets for eco friendly products.

i heard vinegar works well. i've never tried it but had a whole half hour discussion with a lady in walmart about it one day. she just puts vinegar in as her detergant and says the clothes come out smelling clean, but she said for really dirty clothes to use detergants.

I have been using Sun and Earth for detergent and Biokleen Cholorine free oxygen bleach plus as an additive for my whiltes. I haven't had any problems with stains. I do the normal pre-treat of a stain before I wash the item and have had great luck. I am not sure what store carries these products as I buy mine from a great eco friendly online site. If you are interested in cleaning supplies that are eco friendly they have a ton of diffrent ones. I have been getting mostly the Sun and Earth brand.

check out www.shoptoearth.net/beansmom - click on the shop to earth on the top right of the page and there are a ton of companies listed on the left.
