I had and ultrasound at 7 weeks and saw the baby and heard the heartbeat but at my 10 week visit they couldn't detect it with a doppler. They said it was fine and to come back in 2 weeks. Has anyone had this happened to anyone else?

yupp...it happened to me at 9 wks with my first pregnancy. before the dr even tried finding it he told me that he more than likely wont find it because i'm only 9 wks. i had an ultrasound at 6.5 wks and we saw the heartbeat but couldnt hear it. i know of drs that wont even look for the heartbeat until you are about 13-14 wks along just because it's so hard finding it. my sister was about 14 wks and the dr tried about 3 times to find it, she finally found it but it took a little bit. i know it's hard not to worry as i still worried after my 9 wk appointment too but i'm sure it's ok!

Honestly...not to scare you...but I would get a second opinion just to be on the safe side.  At my 10 week...same thing happened to me...they told me not to worry and booked a follow up appt.  However one week later I went to the emergency room because of bleeding.  Turned out the baby's heart stopped and I was having a miscarriage.  I was okay though...6 months later I was pregnant again and my daughter is now 5 years old.

Yup! I was very concerned about it and my doctor was too. She booked me in for an emergency ultrasound. Found the baby and the heartbeat... little girl was hiding on us. She was sitting far down in my uterus. I'd ask for one if your concerned. Some doctors are just too relaxed, while others (like mine) worry overly. I prefer the worriers since I worry about almost everything too.
