At what age did you start them?What did you start with? I was so paranoid with my first so I didn't give them until later (my baby sitter actually got tired and fed her them) Now not too sure if I should start with my second....

We started LO on Gerber puffs around 7 1/2 months. You know to start them on finger foods when they are making a chewing motion when eating solids and if they can pick things up well with their pincher fingers. It took a day or two before my LO could successfully feed herself. She also eats Gerber lil crunchies and Mum Mums. I tried giving her chunks of ripe banana, but she didn't like it. I've also tried apple slices that she could just gnaw on, but wasn't having that either.

About 7 months old I started my son on finger foods. We gave him those gerber puffs. He loved them and they mostly just dissolved in his mouth. From there, we started little pieces of toasts and gave him little bit of bagel with very thin layer of cream cheese. Umm a good one would be little pieces of fruit, like bananas, peaches, watermelons..oh! My son LOVED the Dole Pineapple chunks. I just made them smaller that way he could eat it without choking. Now he's 11 months and is eating like a pro.
