When he catches me looking at him, and he looks so surprised, then begins to smile even though it breaks the suction from his beloved food.

It might sound crazy but I loved night time nursing my son. That peacefull, quiet snuggle time was so comforting and precious to both of us. I would look down at his sweet little face and just be enveloped with love for my little sweetheart.

I love snuggling with her while she's nursing -- it's a wonderful bonding experience. Of course, I also love that it's so healthy for her and convenient as well.

One of my favorite moments with my daughter was during breast feeding when she paused to look up at me and say, "I like it" and then returned to nursing again. She was around 14 months at the time.

The look on the face of my baby when he is 'drunk' from the milk that I provided for him (falls into deep sleep after a feed)! I love the way I can comfort my baby by breastfeeding him, and he looks forward to his feeds!

I breastfed all 3 of my sons. The best part for me was watching their enjoyment and watching them fall off to sleep when full and satisfied.

The bond I feel during that time and it puts my mind at ease when they are exposed to illness because I know they have a better chance at fighting it or getting through more easily.

I breastfed my 19 yr. old son for 2 solid years--while working--and the nicest thing about it is, he still has never had a cold. Really. The development of the sinuses and and ear canals is really optimized.
For me, I ate everything in site, and by month 5, I lost all my pregnancy weight and was back at my base weight, with a flat stomach.

Although I no longer breastfeed (my son is six) knowing I gave him the best nutrition I could for 18 months was awesome. We had an amazing bond back then and it is just as strong today even though he is going through rough times with his dad not being in his life again and I am going to school part time and working full time. I cant wait for the next one so i can nurse again. Even if I have to pump it will be worth it for my baby to get the best start in life.

Valerie - posted on 02/02/2011

For my son I exclusively pumped because he was in heart failure and didn't have the energy to nurse. The best thing was knowing I was doing the only thing I felt I could do for him that would keep him strong and healthy. For my daughter the best part has been that it is our time together!

It's been about 6 years since my youngest weaned himself, but to all of you breastfeeding moms out there, you should know that my favorite part stays with me constantly - the knowledge that I contributed to their health and the immense love that I felt and still share with my children (now 11 and 7!).

Convenience! It's always ready, always the right temperature, it's always with you and there are no added dishes and nothing more to pack when you are leaving the house. Not to mention it's the healthiest choice you can make for your sweet little baby.

Knowing that I was providing a healthy future for my babies. The closeness you get is so incredible because you look into their eyes as they feed and occasionally giggle ...no stink when they poo either and no cost ! If you are on the ledge do it....I even expressed milk when working part time...helped me lose weight faster too after my two births.

The absolute best was how excited he would get when he saw it was time to nurse. He would actually squeal with delight when I would unbutton my shirt.

well I feed all 4 of my kids and the best thing was the strong bond between me and them.My 4 was a ceaser birth and I was really worried that he would not have the closeness that his siblings had not being able to get out of bed to him as easy in the first cructial hours.so when able to move he spent extended time at the breast to gain the bonding with me.The first feed of anti bodies is so special when they lay there finding there way to goodness as they first feed then looking up at you with that one little eye and falling in love and knowing you are my mum .The whole convenience is fantastic as well.

Hmm, my favorite thing about nursing is the baby is always fed exactly what he or she needs. It promotes the shrinking and healing of the uterus after birth. Breastfeeding my children gave me such joy. We shared a special bond that was no longer the same when we moved to bottles (even with breastmilk). I loved it and my children did too.

I loved not having to carry, wash, sterilize and fill bottles. The savings were also great, not having to spend hundreds of dollars a month on formulas for 18 months for each of my four children. Another thing great about breastfeeding my children when they were infants was that I was able to give them the breast milk when they were sick and not worry that they weren't getting any nutrition or liquid. Plus they were soooo cute when they looked up at me as they breastfed.

Not only do I get to share a special emotional bond with him, but the convienence of not have to pack anything but and extra outfit a few diapers and wipes when we step out is freeing. Can't beat the savings in cost vs. formula either!

Breast fed my elder one for 2 years , we have great bonding and it also helped in increasing my dolls immune and it also helped me in staying fit and was really easy to shed the fat from the pregnancy and I'm doing the same for my new born who is 3 months old and can fit into my old jeans already. So all new mums do feed your baby it's best for your baby and you. Cheers!

i loved breast feeding and would glady do it again because i loved the whole closeness and bonding i had with my girls i did it for as long as possible and cried every time when id completely weaned them off because i knew that bond will slowly go as she can be feed by other people now where as breast feeding i was her main source. and i also know i redeased the risk od diabetes and many other illness in my babies life because i breast feed her.
