For moms who have had a tubal ligation - Did you ever have any negative side effects??

I didn't have any problems after I had mine done and didn't have 2 worry about getting pregnant again.

I had my tubes tied and I never had any problems with the surgery or afterwards. But now I'm wanting the surgery reversed. My best friend warned me that this would happen but I didn't listen. If I were you I would consider something less permanent, like an IUD or implants, they are 99% effective and not anywhere near as expensive. And they take no time to recover from.

I did not have any negative side effects at all. It was very easy... However, if you are under 30 there is a chance they can reattach... I had that happen and ended up having a tubal pregnancy about 6 years after the tubal ligation. So, if you are under 30... Talk to your Dr. about it.

I have had my tubes tied now for 6 years today since it is my youngest boy's birthday and I havent had any troubles.

Yes I have had negative side effects. My menstrual cycle is alot different with more intense pain. I have complained ever since the surgery. I guess you do not mess with mother nature.

I had mine done in January 2005. The only thing that came from mine was heavier periods. A friend of mine also had this problem. I've never heard of any other side effects from it.

I haven't gotten my tubes tied, but 2 of my friends have. They have told me that their cycle lasts longer and are heavier. One even had to go to the emergency room because she was on her cycle too long and was losing too much blood.

I just had mine done in July, by outpatient surgery. I had a short recevery but have been very happy with it so far! =)

I had nothing but problems afterwards. My periods became soooo heavy that many months I would miss work and end up in the ER. The cramps became unbarriable. I ended up having another surgery where they removed the lining of my uterious to control the bleeding and that worked. The doctors say it had nothing to do with the tubal, but how funny that I had NEVER had any problems what so ever before the surgery. Some of my friends expierenced similar effects. Hope this helps.

I had mine done 3 yrs ago at the same time i delivered my 3rd child by c-section,,,no real problems as such except for getting cycle back on track

No problem here. I had mine done almost 3 years ago. I haven't had any problems at all.Good luck with your decision

Not really. The only problem I had was getting my cycle back on track.

No problems at all! I had it done 12 hours after delivery and my OB didn't use the gas to blow up my abdomen, so there was literally NO recovery. I only took Aleve so the nurse would quit coming in every 30 minutes to ask if I needed anything for pain!

I didn't have any negative effects at all. Just a lot of relief that I didn't have to worry about birth control any more.
