I was only able to breastfeed for 6 weeks til I had to have my gal bladder out and that was the end if the milk supply. Luckily I had been to all 3 websites (similac, enfamil and good start) and had sample cans to try. For my daughter Enfamil upset her stomach but she was fine with Similac Advance and Good Start. All of the companies will send coupons, I was still getting them after she was done with formula! Good luck in your hunt! Make sure you sign up for the samples and coupons!

I was told Good start was GREAT! My darling son had other thoughts! We ended up using Similac Soy. Worked great for us!

I have used Enfamil A+ and Nestles Good Start Ages 0-12+. My son did fine on the Enfamil until he was about 3 weeks old it started giving him terrible tummy aches...he screamed for 3 hours straight, 3 nights in a row and that was it. I couldn't stand to listen to him cry like that so we asked my doctor and he recommended the Nestles Good Start.

Nestles Good Start is a GODSEND. No tummy aches ever since, even his bowel movements looked more normal. He's always liked it...it doesn't smell nearly as awful as the Enfamil did and it was way cheaper than the Enfamil to boot.

My son was born 3 1/5 weeks early and weighed in at 4 lbs 14 oz. I breastfed for one week, then had nothing left. He's now 12 weeks old and weighs 12 lbs and is very healthy. I have two more sons, 19 and 17, who were breastfed for about two weeks each. And they are very healthy too. So I wouldn'd get beat up about people going on about breastfeeding. Got it all myself.
As for Formula, I started off with Enfamil, but Matty got colic so I changed to Similac Advance. No problems now. Hope this helps.

I have used Enfamil Premium Lipil every now and again with my daughter. (pumping has never worked for me) She didn't have any trouble with it.

All babies are different and some little tummies have trouble with certain formulas. Even the same brand formulas there are different types e.g. extra iron, soy, lactose free. It will all depend on your little one's tummy. So don't go out and buy 5 or 6 cans of one kind because your LO might not be able to tolerate it and you can't return it.

Good luck finding the best one that works for your little one. It may take time and it may even change after a few months.

Once your little one has arrived speak with their pediatrician about and tummy upset or trouble pooing or peeing. They may be able to help determine what in your LO's formula may be causing the upset.

thye are all regulated so they are all the same quality wise, name brand or not, but i found that nestle good start was good for my kids, they got constipated alot on enfamil, or similac. my dr. recommended it when we had that problem. also, i'm not a huge believer in homeopathic remedies, but i thought i'd give prebiotics a try and they seemed to help alot with his tummy issues, i'm pretty sure good start makes one with prebiotics (at least they did two years ago).

If spitting up is a issue i would go with soy but if not stay milk-based we use similac and if that is the one you choose join strong moms through the similac site they send awesome coupons. if you can get away with it use parents choice which is wal-mart brand it is about half-price compared to the other formula. i was able to use it with my son but my daughter does not like it.
