Formula amount for a 6.5month old?

My 2 yr old never took more than 6 oz at a time in a bottle, and she acted the same as yours, I always said the stars and moon had to be aligned right in order for her to take a bottle-it was always recommended to me to allow them a 20-30 min timeframe in which to eat (I always waited a few minutes and reheated), then take away the bottle, either they will get all they need or they will be hungrier the next go around and eat better.

hi there, if you reply, , im no doctor but i have a fear idea, whats going on.first you need to tell me does she get constipated with one milk,or a very poo eee nappy with another.as im sure your well aware she is having her bottle times every 4 hours, and whats also happening is that your actually feeding her too much.her 8am meal(bottle) is alot because she sleeps right through the night.try and not give her cereal, then wait till around 12:30pm /1pm and give her a couple of spoons of what ever your making her for lunch, then her bottle, a play, and burp, nappy change what ever routine you have her in, then she might go back to sleep.Always remember dont wake baby leave her to sleep, when she does wake ,depends on how long she has slept, give her suitable amount of formula cause the longer they sleep , the more they are going to eat., try not to feed bub a solid food after her bottle, she will probably be full,when was the last time you have got her checked up.do you know that bubs can get thrush in their mouths too?and that can be pretty painful and uncomfortable for her...the roof and sides of her mouth should be white. theres so many formulas these days...karicare i find is a pretty good milk, and ive always brought the advent bottles, yes they are expensive, but they are worth spending a little bit more...and as for the teats, well once again the advent when you buy in packs it has the teats and all..try her formula for a month...dont chop and change her milk, as your not giving her enough time to get used to the milk, and she will probably end up constipated,they have coloxal drops for constipation but water worked better for me and dont forget water is thinner than the milk,.Yes she splutter on the water, so feed her sitting upif so i know a very good baby doctor , in sydney blacktown area if your anywhere close to there...just let me know how u go okay....iand dont worry bout being long winded , ur entiled too do what ever you want to do..hope this helps..please let me know how you go........mum of 8......my 1 yr old will be getting up soon and i havent gone too bed yet....."goodluck"

Every baby is different. My oldest son was taking about half of what my youngest did at any given age. So long as your baby isn't gaining too much or too little weight (your child's dr. will let you know if they are) you shouldn't be worried. My youngest son was taking nearly 8 oz at a time by 6 months... but he was a larger baby compared to my oldest who was only 4 lb 12 oz when he was born.

try giving her more solid foods in place of a bottle feeding. it sounds to me like she is ready to try new things! thats what mine started doing when she was about four months old. she eats regular meals with the family all the time now and she doesn't even eat baby food anymore. she only gets a bottle for nap and bedtime... but it does sound like she is ready for more!

Have you tried burping her when she pushes the bottle away? Maybe she just has gas and doesn't know how to burp herself yet. It sounds like she's getting enough - what did your Dr say?
