thats actually a perfect amount, if he is full, dont push him to eat more, that will just make him sick. He will definately let you know when he needs more to eat!!!

my daughter is 6 months and drinks 5, 6 oz bottles a day she has about a whole jar of food a day. But every baby is different mine is just not very interested in solids and they told me formula is still the main source of food. Whatever you do as long as your baby is happy and not hungry it is fine...

I think the recommended norm for a baby that age is 30 to 40 ozs if he is formula fed only. If you have introduced solids it is only normal if his formula or breast milk has gone done since his little tummy is filled with food. If he is hitting his milestones and seems content don't try and force feed....it could be that you have a baby with a small appetite.

As far as I know, as long as he gets at least 1 pint of milk a day (20oz in UK, 16oz in US) its fine. If he needs any more, he'll more than likely let you know! By the way, you didn't say if he was on solids yet, as if you're worried he's not getting enough milk, its easy to top it up a little by adding to baby rice or banana.

I believe they should have between 24 and 32 ounces a day. Doesn't matter when or how they take it. Check with your dr about the ounces. If he has started rice cereal then he will start taking less formula. If that is the case I would give him a little less rice. Hope that helps. He also may have just went through a growth spirt and just needs a little less right now. If he starts loosing weight contact your dr. asap.

I was thinking the same thing today as my daughter didnt finish her milk. She is six months and eats jars so she is def drinking less milk. I am lucky if she drinks 4 oz bottles and she drinks 4-5 a day. She has 4-5 wet diapers so i know she is good. I am just going to ask the ped tomorrow to make sure.

Yes, that is about right. 1oz per hour is a good guideline. All kids are different. It sounds as though you are paying attention to your child. Kids listen to their bodies better than adults. They generally do not eat if they are not hungry. Adults eat when we see or smell food, if we are bored or depressed. Kids really listen to their bodies and if he was still wanting more, you would know. Have you started solids? You may notice changes then too. If he is gaining weight too then you are on the right track.

yes this is def enough!! my daughter was breastfed until she was 7 months old. i wasn't sure about how much formula she should have, so i asked the doctor. my daughter drank 4 to 5 six ounce bottles a day. your baby should be eating rice cereal and baby food by now, so he will drink less formula as he eats more :) if he is through drinking, then he probably has had enough. the sure way you can tell is if he has more than 4 wet diapers a day. as long as you have that, then he's good!
