How old were your children when you switched them out of their cribs into a bed? reason i ask is my 11 month old daughter hates her crib. she sleeps so sound if i lay her in my bed for her naps but at night its a constant fight to keep her asleep in her own crib. i refuse to let her sleep in my bed i just broke my son of that horrible habbit hes 3 and now finally sleeps in his own bed all night dont want another rerun of what i went through with him.

My daughter was 17mnths when we started her in a toddler bed. She was ready for it as well. Our son we started in a toddler bed at about 18mnths. If they are good about sleeping in a bed already (like she is for naps) then now might be a good time, just be aware that she may get up more frequently at first as she gets used to it.

We had a hard time breaking both our children of sleeping in our bed, it took putting them in room together for a while before they would sleep outside of our room. It is not a habit that we intend to repeat with the upcoming child!

Good Luck and God Bless

For my yougest I actually put him into a toddler bed at about 11 months. He was able to climb out of his crib, so I figured why not put him into a bed that is lower to the ground and allows him to get in and out on his own without me having to worry throughout the night if that will be the night he was going to get really hurt. He slept well in that bed and at about 2 I put him into a twin size bed with the guard rails since he loved sleeping in my bed. I didn't want to share. lol With the guard rail and the ladder he cant fall out. So it depends on the circumstances in which you would like to get your child into a real bed. But once I got that bed, it was good because then he slept through the night and I wasn't worried. With my oldest he had the same problem with being in a crib. I even made his crib like a bed with more padding and a pillow and that still didn't work, so what I did with him was I removed one railing side completely and placed his crib up against my bed and he slept all night. Hopefully this helps :)
