I have a dilemma….My youngest daughter (Cayleigh) is turning one in November and I have no idea what to buy her. One of my problems is I also have a daughter (Carissa) who just turned two in August. We only have two girls so all of the toys are already girl related. We bought Carissa a wagon for her 1st birthday and a cozy coupe for her 2nd birthday. I do not think we need two wagons so that present is out and Cayleigh is not ready for the cozy coupe plus we live in NY so the weather will be chilly for the next 6-8 months. Making a decision is starting to become difficult not mention Christmas is right around the corner. URGH! Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

I want to thank you all for your great girft ideas. My husband and I actually decided awhile ago to buy the girls a play kitchen for Christmas. We decided to go with the shopping cart idea.

My mom got something similar to this for my daughter's first.

If that's too big, what about a doll house? My daughter has the Fisher Price Little People doll house, and plays with it regularly. All the Little People stuff is interchangeable, so you can add to her collection with a Little People car for Christmas.

Also, does she have her own baby? I know her sisters most likely have babies, but does she have one that is just hers? That's a thought too.

For my girls first birthday they received a new outfit and a special cake. It's cold out so how about a play kitchen or a dolly care set? My girls LOVE caring for their babies and playing house and always have. My girls also LOVE dress up. this year (they are turning 3 and 5 next month) they are getting birthstone necklaces (age appropriate of course) they LOVE playing dress up so we've gone to after Halloween sales and bought cheep costumes from thrift stores and those are a huge hit in our house as well.

my son is one in november and i bought him one of those ID bracelets that boys have and i've engraved his name on it so perhaps something like that? I know his father is getting him a wading pool but that wouldn't be too much help if it's going into winter (its summer here so its perfect) whatever you decide though make sure it has plenty of wrapping paper

I have 3 boys under three, so I totally get the duplicate toy dilemma... We had gotten a sit and stand airplane (pooh) for my daughter's first birthday and a sit and stand rocket (little einsteins) for my son's first birthday. Then my next son came and we really didn't need another sit and stand toy even though those push toys are like the best first birthday present. We chose a light up activity table instead and it was just as much of a hit as the sit and stand push toys were. Also, for young girls (and boys, haha) a small toy kitchen set is always fun. My daughter got her's on her second birthday, but my one year old son plays with it more than anyone. Also, rocking horses are a great first birthday present. Hope you get some great ideas. Good Luck

A plastic shopping basket? She is young but I remember my son loved to push my nieces basket around as soon as he was walking. (this also makes toy cleanup easier because you toss all the toys in the basket then push it to the room to put away).
