I am 32 weeks pregnant and have yet to pick a name for our daughter. I feel like I am running out of time!! Please help!

We like names you don't hear alot, but aren't scarring to our children in the future. Something classic.

I have three wonderful young men. Never had a daughter, not even granddaughter.
I always thought Norina is a beautiful name is from the 50's.
I saw a love story and the name stuck with me.
Good luck. Oh, by the way my middle child name is Gabriel. This was spontaneous because I didn't have a name for him. When my middle child was born, and saw him with blond curly hair and big green eyes, that was it, he looked like an angle and name him Gabriel. Sometimes the best name is when you see your child. God Bless.

We considered a lot when we chose a name for our daughter
- what the initials would spell,
- having a short last name I wanted a first name with more than one syllable,
- not having the same initals as another member of the household for when mail comes with just the first initial and surname so there is not confusion
- something easy to spell and pronounce correctly the first time it is seen ie by a teacher
- and as one other post stated will suit an adult as well as you are a little kid for only a short time.
We decided on Zarlia. We have seen one other child but hers was spelt Zahlia, similar to Tahlia.
Her middle name Kay is the same as mine and also after my mother.
Good luck - it is a mind field but it is your decision dont let someone talk you into a name you are not happy with.

My husband didn't like it, but I love the name Tabitha Rose :)

As a special ed teacher, I would recommend against Mackenzie and Madelyn at this time. Also Kayleena/Kaylee/Kylee and other variations of this name. All of the students I have encountered with these names recently have had learning difficulties. Its weird how names seem to cluster sometimes...

Ruby, Aspen, Addison, Delaney, Afton, Laken, Tessa, Josie, Mya, Dont settle on a name before you see her, because the first time you see her lil face you will know what name fits her smile her eyes and her personality! My advice is to make a list of top ten and narrow down to 3!

My best girlfriend is Kamber (or "Kami").

My niece is Kyomi.

I was blessed with all boys but had Madelyn Kathryn ("Mad Kat") picked out just in case.

And my stepsister just had a grandbaby named Evelyn, but she's going by Evie.

Love them all...

Good luck to you! :)

I feel the same way about names that are less common, but not weird. My 7 month old daughter's name is Clara Eliza. I also love the name Lydia, although that is beginning to be more popular, and my nieces name is Cambree. Good luck, it's such a hard process!

My daughter's name was Taryn Kelly (Kelly was my grandmother's maiden name). She was the only one in her school that I know of to have had the name. After people realize that you're not saying "Karen" or "Tara" (I think people hear what is familiar to them!), but TARYN, I have only had compliments on my choice of her name, which is of Irish origin.
Good luck to you & your husband, and let us know when ? arrives and what name you have selected!

Laynie Taylor,Payton Olivia, Brenna Yasmine,Annabell Mary, Candice Gail. My name was going to be Katy Leigh,(if my grandmother didn't step in, and she named me Robin Sue). That's how my girl got her middle name. My daughters' name is Lillian Sue.(Lilly). Hope you get some idea out of everyone for your little girl!

I suggest you think of a theme... I find it's easier to choose names to suit rather than just plucking a name out of the air. My kids are named after colour and aviation (weird I know)... it covers both my and my husbands interests.

Also, think of how the name would be received when they are a young woman (with work and dating). For example: some names are cute for a baby but not great for an adult, equally and name that sounds too serious doesn't do a child justice.

What about Indigo (indi for short), Emerald (Em), Piper or Avalon.

Congrats... and best wishes for an easy and safe birth.

Alexandra :)

I feel like the best way to pick is to look through a huge name book and write down anything that you like the sound of. Try each one on...with last name, nick names etc. (sometimes you'll have to sit on it for a few days) and eventually one will stick that you both love. We ended up with Malayna Lynn just a few weeks before she was born. (Layna if we shorten it)

Congratulations, you are gonna have a girl. If I had a girl, I'd name her Sophia, It is an Italian name, easy to spell and not very common. When I think about girl names, I also think of the meaning of the name, I don't know the meaning for this one. But Sarah for instance, meas God's little princess in the biblical meaning. God Bless.
