I am Ruth, I already got pregnant before.. way back 2010. i lost my baby.. and my concern now is i have a fiance now, in which both of us do not have plan to have baby this time... i am concern this time: is it advisable for me to use pills to avoid pregnancy? I ask this because my very close friend keep telling me using pills can cause a threat to my health. and she told me also that pills is good only for those who already have a baby.


Please advise me.

I was on the pill as a teenager so I wouldn't be listening to your friend who says it's only good for those that already have children.

In regards to your health, I didn't have any lasting effects. I have had 3 healthy children. You need to be aware of all the side effects though and a doctor really should prescribe them to suit you. There are so many different types. They should also check your blood pressure as the pill can be harmful if it's high.

Telling us the name of the pill may help, also if it's a birth control pill or the morning after pill.

You are being too vague for us to help.

Really! Where do you live? I didn't even know you could buy then from the pharmacy! What are your pills called?
Don't be afraid but I do feel you need some proper advice from a doctor just so you know what you are doing, there's other methods that might seem less scary for you.

I am not sure what you are feeling In you abdomen! Who did you get your pills off? Have you not been adviced on how to take them? Because to be protected you have to take them properly.

Please don't be afraid to go to your doctors, that is wht they are there for! Do you have a local family planning clinic? These places are really good for advice.

Ma'am, I actually do not know about the exact date of my period when I do taking pills just yesterday when i started. this day, i can feel reaction on my abdomen... and just last night i can feel like something itchy on my "little mommy" then just this morning, when i go to comfort room to urinate, there's spotting happened. I was shock when i see it.. even now. I am afraid to see a doctor.

I don't know whatt to do.

Hi Ruth I've been on the pill for many years now, before and after I had children like most things there maybe health problems and the pill isn't right for everyone but for me I have never had a problem with it, I'd advice you go to your doctors or family planning clinic and ask about birthday control and what might be best for you.
