My son is Matthew. I wanted a traditional strong male name that will sound great as an adult, looks great on a resume or college applications, sounds great in a professional setting, etc. As a teacher, I have seen so many downright bizarre names over the past 15 years that make my head spin, wondering why parents deliberately set their kids up with an extrme, over the top bizarre, made up name. Often it leads to bullying and most of the time, an unpronouncable name.

did it not post?? I said Connor Jackson (first name, middle name.) and I totally agree with spelling "Jaxson" with an x, just to make it less obvious that I'm naming him after someone.

My son's name is Lacoda Lee. We wanted something different but not too crazy! If I ever have another boy his name will be Rylan Cade. Some of my friends have had baby boys recently and these are the names they chose.. Brayden Scott, Carter Mykle, Bradley Michael and Braxton. Hope this was helpful and good luck choosing a name :]

We always found boy names hard to choose too. I trolled through the net and made huge lists which we then culled over time. We are a bit traditional and ended up choosing between Benjamin, Joshua, Alexander, Zachary. I also liked Jacob and Lachlan and Nathaniel. Cooper and Connor and Tyler were all considered as well. I also really like good old Nathan and Adam, but they were taken off our list coz those names had history!
Friends have called their sons Evan, Jack, Samuel, Riley, Bailey, Nicholas, Ryder, Connor, Alex, Luke, Lucas, Harrison, Hayden.
Happy choosing!

If I were able to have another and it was a boy he would've been named Jaxson. Always thought that was different way of spelling it.

if my daughter had been a boy, her name would have been Jacob Martin (Martin is my fiance's dad's name, and my fiances middle name). and im sorry if i offend anyone, but i read a couple names that people posted that are obviously girls names... i dont know why people would call their boy a girls name... arent you worried about him getting teased when hes in school?

I'm with Kelly .... I loved the name James and that is why I named my son James and no we do not call him Jamie, Jim .... it is James. Full name is James Manning Smith ... sounds strong to me and hopefully it works for him thru out his life because that is what I gave him. I also like the names Michael and William. But what ever you choose, you will know if it right for your baby boy when he comes into the world and you see his beautiful face. Congratulations .... and good look on the name selection. Maybe you can also have a baby name party and have all your family and friends suggest boys names and maybe one of them will work for you.

I have three boys. One is traditional (Anthony), named after his dad. But would have named my first that anyway, even if I didn't marry his dad. Loved it since i was a little girl. The middle one (Ryan) came from a T.V. show. lol The third (Corey) was suppose to be a girl (on ultra sound). Originally Corissa. We just cut it short. I'd say the fist name that comes to mind is always the best!!!! So go with what you like!

"James" because that is what I named my son. It is a family name and I am glad that I chose it. He is not Jamie, Jiame, or anything else just James and I love it!

look up baby names on the internet and it will give you a whole lot of them. In most lists they will give you an option to choose modern names or classic names or older names etc. It will also tell you the most popular names for the last few years in case you don' or do want those.
